Writing a Chapter of Cultural Tourism in the New Era The new journey confirms that youth has no regrets

"May Day" International Labor Day and May Fourth Youth Day are coming, this newspaper once again launched a special report on "My Decade", listening to young and middle-aged cultural and tourism workers talk about their work, talk about their efforts and happiness in labor, and talk about actively acting in different positions in order to meet the people's pursuit of a better life. Some of them are young, and although some of them are no longer young, the footprints of youth and labor are vividly remembered. Their work may not be vigorous, but they are all striving to move forward in the torrent of "forging ahead into a new journey and building a new era of meritorious service."

The vast number of cultural and tourism workers work and create in various ways precisely for the sake of a better life for the people. Therefore, we also asked the corresponding masses to talk about the changes in cultural and tourism life in the past ten years, talk about their own experiences and feelings, and talk about their expectations for a better life.

What everyone is talking about is only a specific angle, and what everyone does may be insignificant, but we can look closely and listen carefully, from which we can clearly feel the development of the times and hear the sonorous rhythm of "forging ahead into a new journey and building a new era of merit".

The red spirit is always new

Li Na (Advanced Worker of National Culture and Tourism System, Docent of Ren Bishi Memorial Hall)

As a docent of the Red Memorial Hall, I deeply feel that since the Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Party and the state have paid more and more attention to the development of the Red Memorial Hall and the inheritance of red genes, which has pointed out the direction and increased the impetus for the development of the Red Memorial Hall.

I entered the Ren Bishi Memorial Hall in March 2003. Out of admiration for Comrade Ren Bishi, a leading figure who went out in Miluo City, Yueyang City, Hunan Province, I graduated from the normal college and became a teacher for a year, and then transferred to the Ren Bishi Memorial Hall as a docent. Since the Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China, under the guidance of General Secretary Xi Jinping's thinking of "telling the red story well and inheriting the red gene", the red memorial hall and the field of red research and education have ushered in unprecedented development, and I am more and more convinced that my original choice is incomparably correct.

In the past 10 years, what I have felt most deeply is the change of the audience group and the development of red research. In the past, most of the people who came to visit our museum were groups organized by units to participate in party building or team building activities, and some of them were "formalities" in the form. In recent years, more and more audiences have spontaneously come to the museum to visit and study, not only party members and cadres of party and government organs, but also many students and social groups, and there are many family-oriented visitors. When some parents bring their children to visit, they will point to cultural relics and pictures to patiently tell their children the story of Ren Bi's struggle and his "camel spirit" of "firm faith, not forgetting the original heart, adhering to the truth, pragmatic responsibility, tirelessly working hard, striving to move forward, taking less and giving more, and being honest and honest".

In the past 10 years, red research and education has experienced a process from the rise to the rising popularity and then gradually popularized, among which the red memorial hall has played an active role in the "university hall" of red education, providing "classrooms" and fresh "teaching materials" for red education. At present, the Ren Bishi Memorial Hall, where I am located, is currently the research base of more than 200 colleges and universities and primary and secondary schools, and receives more than 1,000 batches of red research teams every year. During the explanation, I saw in the eyes of the children that they were full of curiosity about Ren Bishi's story and had great respect for his spirit, which was the meaning of my work.

In the past 10 years, the venue facilities of the Ren Bishi Memorial Hall have also undergone several quality improvements and transformations, and their functions have become more complete. In 2013, the memorial hall built a cultural relics museum and rebuilt the visitor center, the area of the museum was expanded from 120 acres to 169 acres, and the area of the museum reached more than 20,000 square meters. Since 2020, the memorial hall has implemented the movable cultural relics protection environmental regulation project, and the professional cultural relics warehouse under construction of the project will be used to improve the cultural relics preservation environment and the digital protection of cultural relics, which will significantly improve the protection ability of our cultural relics collection.

On the basis of the improvement of facilities, the exhibition quality of our pavilion has also been greatly improved. For example, we launched the Ren Bishi Life Performance Exhibition, in the original Ren Bishi Life Exhibition to further dig into the essence of the red story, the form of modern sound and photoelectric technology, and added some silicone image scenes and more pictures, making the exhibition more exquisite, the exhibition was also awarded the Hunan Province Ten Years Fine Exhibition Exhibition.

In September 2020, General Secretary Xi Jinping visited Shazhou Village in Rucheng County, Hunan Province, and visited the special exhibition hall of "The Warmth of Half a Quilt", emphasizing the need to make good use of such red resources, tell red stories, do a good job in red education, and let red genes be passed on from generation to generation. This is an inspiration for me and my colleagues. As red docents, we have the obligation to dig deeper into the red culture and the revolutionary spirit of the older generation of proletarian revolutionaries, and to publicize and explain these red stories more vividly by sending exhibitions and propaganda into communities and schools, so that the red genes can be passed on from generation to generation.

Under the guidance of General Secretary Xi Jinping's spirit of "telling the red story well", in the past 10 years, I have lectured on different audience groups such as party members and cadres, ordinary people and student teams, and strive to present to everyone the great achievements of Comrade Ren Bishi in different periods and in all aspects.

Students walk into history at the Red Memorial

Wu Ying (Teacher, Miluo Ren Bishi Red Army Middle School)

Writing a Chapter of Cultural Tourism in the New Era The new journey confirms that youth has no regrets

▲ Students of Ren Bishi Red Army Middle School visited the Ren Bishi Memorial Hall

I am a middle school history teacher, and the Red Army Middle School where I teach is located in Bishi Town, Miluo City, Comrade Ren Bishi's hometown. In my opinion, it is necessary for students to have a deep understanding of the revolutionary leaders who went out in their hometowns and their spiritual qualities. Therefore, I often take students to the Ren Bishi Memorial Hall to visit and study, taking them "out of the classroom and into history."

Comrade Ren Bishi is known as the camel of the party and is one of the five secretaries of the First Plenary Session of the Seventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. In his 46 years of life, he had a revolutionary career of 30 years and made outstanding contributions to the founding of the party, the army and the founding of New China. I hope that through understanding Ren Bishi, students will better study and understand the history of the party, and inherit and carry forward the "camel spirit" embodied in Ren Bishi.

Because I go at least two or three times a year, I can see the changes in the Ren Bishi Memorial Hall. In recent years, the number of venues has increased, the area of the building has been expanded, the greenery has been better, and the exhibition has also been improved. Some of the newly added restoration scenes allow the audience to have a more intuitive understanding of the content of the exhibition. I was very impressed by the scene of Ren Bi spinning yarn in front of the Yan'an cave dwelling, and when the students watched it, they were very interested, and I would tell them that the materials at that time were not as abundant as they are now, and they were all self-reliant, so that they could experience the hard life of the older generation of proletarian revolutionaries in the revolutionary years.

Every time I listened to the lecture at the Ren Bishi Memorial Hall, I had a different harvest, and the most memorable thing for me and the students was the explanation of the "last page of the calendar". In the exhibition hall of the Ren Bishi Memorial Hall displays an old-fashioned desk calendar, a simple iron base, and the top page shows the date of October 25, 1950. This day was the day when the Chinese People's Volunteer Army kicked off the prelude to the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, and it was also the day when Ren Bishi persisted in his post until the last moment of his life. On the evening of October 24, 1950, he worked in front of a map of North Korea until 12 o'clock at night, reached out and turned the calendar on the desk over a page, and planned the next day's work. However, he never woke up again, and the calendar on the table was forever fixed on October 25, becoming the best witness of his original intention and bowing down. The narrator spoke very emotionally, and the students listened carefully...

This year will usher in the 20th National Congress of the Party, 2024 will usher in the 120th anniversary of ren bishi's birth, as a grassroots party member and people's teacher, I look forward to the hometown of Ren Bishi memorial hall can be better developed, attracting more tourists and audiences to come to understand the red history.

Can't forget "the friendship of a bowl of porridge"

Zhang Yongqing (Director of Comprehensive Cultural Station, Liuyan Town, Changyi City)

Writing a Chapter of Cultural Tourism in the New Era The new journey confirms that youth has no regrets

▲ Zhang Yongqing (second from left) and painting lovers in the town exchange creative experience Deng Shuchun photo

Over the past 10 years, the changes in the comprehensive cultural station in Liuyan Town, Changyi City, Shandong Province, have become obvious. The original simple office has become a spacious and bright dedicated floor; the supporting facilities are complete, the library reading room, the children's activity room, the calligraphy and painting creation room are all available; the corridors are full of people, and the masses who often see performances and costumes come and go, preparing for a certain activity.

Looking at the scene in front of me, as the person in charge of the comprehensive cultural station in Liuyan Town, I smiled on my face and was happy in my heart.

In 10 years, some things have changed, some things have not changed. For example, when I first entered the cultural station, the old station manager told me: "There is no trick to do our job, that is, to learn to deal with the masses and understand what everyone wants." I have always kept this sentence in mind. In the days that followed, no matter what difficulties I encountered or what achievements I made, I always told myself in my heart to always understand the needs of the masses.

I still remember that in 2015, I went to the countryside with a private theater troupe in the town. Previously, I was in the role of a team photographer. That time, I suddenly thought, why not put on the costume and run a dragon suit on stage? At the thought of it, on the morning of the fifth day of the first lunar month, I stepped onto the stage. A scene came down, and the thin costume made me shiver. Because of the cold, I came home and started to have a high fever, which burned for two days. The head of the troupe came to visit and regretted that he should not let me go on stage. Lying on the bed, although the fever has not yet subsided, my brain has become more and more awake, and I said: "I really don't know how hard it is for an opera actor to go on stage, and what a painful realization." ”

Because of this experience, I later began to find ways to support the private theater troupe in the town. I said to the leader of the town, "People can't make a few dollars, and the heat and freezing are just to make everyone happy, so why don't we serve well?" ”

What makes me happy is that in the past, the funds of the cultural station were often in arrears, or there was no budget for the finances. At the end of each year, the cultural station will conscientiously make a budget, and the town and higher departments will also do their best to ensure it.

In order to let the people in the town have a real sense of cultural gain, in recent years, I have adapted to the needs of the masses and made efforts in the reading work of the whole people. Every year, the Comprehensive Cultural Station of Liuyan Town formulates a national reading work plan and carries out activities such as the "New Era Rural Reading Season".

There are few public resources in the town, and the children have nothing to do during the summer vacation. My colleagues and I discussed and held reading clubs for primary and secondary school students on the basis of comprehensive cultural service centers in various villages. To this end, I also went to the Changyi City Library and invited librarians to be "readers" for the children. Today, there are more than 200 children who participate in our book club all year round, and the influence of the book club is getting bigger and bigger.

In mass cultural work, the position is also very important. In order to encourage villages to attach importance to cultural activities, I specially organized village cadres to join the WeChat group. Which village's activities are well organized, they will focus on promoting them in the group, encouraging everyone to compare with each other to build a rural stage, and invisibly improving the importance of cultural activities in the hearts of village cadres.

In May 2019, Liuyan Town took the opportunity of holding the Mulberry Picking Festival to hold the town's first mass culture and art festival at the same time. As the director of the cultural station, I was too busy to drink water from copying music to the audio equipment to the program creation arrangement.

A few days before the opening, near 9 p.m., I was still working overtime at the unit. The people dancing in the square dance nearby saw that the lights in the cultural station were still on, so they ran over to see it. Knowing that I had not eaten in order to busy the performance, everyone brought steaming buns and millet porridge in the blink of an eye, and urged me to eat in the same harsh tone as parents to children. When I looked down to drink the porridge, the music of square dancing came from outside the window. I caught a glimpse of the crowd supervising my meal with the afterglow, and suddenly a few tears fell into the bowl.

It was a bowl of porridge friendship. In my opinion, this bowl of porridge is not only sweet, but also more affectionate.

The cultural station is the "peach blossom garden" in the town

Wang Weida (Liuyan Town Masses)

I grew up in the town and was deeply impressed by the comprehensive cultural station in Liuyan Town. When I was a child, it was impossible to go to the downtown library to read books, so I always hid in the reading room of the cultural station. I know several cultural station managers in the town, they are all enthusiastic, sometimes there is no book on the station that everyone wants to read, the station manager will take the initiative to call the city library.

After graduating from Shandong Normal University, I worked in Jinan for two years before returning to my hometown to start a business. The silk skills of Liu yan town are well known. I sell goods for the silk mill through the online platform, and I have an income of more than 100,000 yuan a year.

I have a deep affection for the town's comprehensive cultural station, which holds the historical context of a town and is the most valuable treasure in the town.

Our town's cultural station usually organizes more activities, especially when the weather is good, the town can often see groups of people walking into the cultural station, they are going to rehearse or perform programs, watch programs. Everyone was full of energy and participated in cultural activities. I like to read books, I don't participate in cultural station activities, and then one thing changed me.

In September 2020, the cultural station held a vernacular poetry recital. I happened to be passing by, so I went over to watch. I really did not expect that there are several poets in our town who have insisted on writing poetry for many years, and what they write is related to the customs and customs of the town. Those who work in the silk weaving factory stand generously on the stage and recite the poet's works. At that moment, my eyes suddenly became moist, and I felt that the beautiful things in life were all around.

Since then, I have taken the initiative to add the WeChat of the cultural station manager, and helped arrange the event site on weekends. My neighbor said that in recent years, the town's economic development has been good, and the public order and atmosphere are good, which has a lot to do with the efforts of the staff of the cultural station. Everyone recognizes the cultural station and feels that it is the "peach blossom source" in the town, which can carry forward the righteousness and inherit the excellent culture.

Our life is getting better and better now, party committees and governments at all levels attach great importance to cultural stations, compared with 10 years ago, the hardware conditions of cultural stations have improved significantly, and the professional quality of staff is also higher. When it comes to advice, I feel that there are some aspects of the cultural stand whose potential has not yet been tapped. For example, there are many left-behind children in the town now, can you organize a "four-and-a-half school" to attract more children to join in, or open some special public welfare classes to let children understand the history of their hometown. Of course, this requires support from all sides and the participation of social forces, and I am willing to volunteer as this.

Poetry and income increase together

Wu Junjiang (Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of Mingyue Village)

Before 2009, my hometown, Mingyue Village, a very remote county in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, wore the hat of a "municipal poor village", and the villagers mainly planted food crops such as rice and corn. At that time, the economic benefits of agriculture were low, the infrastructure in the village was weak, and the roads were basically narrow gravel roads and dirt roads. The living conditions of the peasants in the village are also poor, and the housing is mainly adobe houses and brick and wood structures. In 2009, the per capita income in our village was only 4772 yuan.

The turnaround occurred in 2011 when Li Min, a pottery enthusiast from Jingdezhen, discovered an old Qiongyao kiln that had been damaged by the Wenchuan earthquake and had stopped burning. Subsequently, Li Min proposed the concept of restoring ancient kilns, building Mingyue International Ceramics Village, and developing ceramic cultural and creative industrial zones. After two years of preparation, in April 2013, the Mingyue International Ceramics Village project was officially launched, and the following year, Mingyue Kiln was opened to the public.

In 2014, after returning to the village after doing business outside for many years, I found the business opportunity of cultural tourism in my hometown, so I immediately decided to make a simple transformation of my house, put a few tables of simple wood-fired turkeys in the bamboo forest behind the house, opened a farm, and became the first person in the village to "eat crabs". The whole family can receive dozens of people at a time. Seeing that our business is booming, the villagers have also joined in.

Since then, a number of influential, creative and affectionate enterprises and individuals have participated in the development and construction of the countryside, becoming new villagers in Mingyue Village, and turning Mingyue Village into a "literary and artistic village", "ideal village" and "net red village".

Over the years, we have watched the appearance of the village change, and we have also experienced the improvement of material and cultural living standards. Old and new villagers take a leisurely stroll through the village's newly built parks and greenways, and enjoy the unique tranquility of dusk after the tourists leave.

For the future development of Mingyue Village, everyone is very attentive and often discusses together. Our exchange may be in a tea chat under the moon, or in the "Mingyue Classroom" and "Mingyue Art School" held from time to time, everyone expresses their opinions and collides with a better development direction.

I have high expectations for the future development of Mingyue Village and want to stay in the village and do some practical things. With the support of the villagers, I have been the village director of Mingyue Village since 2017, and I feel that I have a heavy responsibility. Tea Mountain, Zhuhai, Mingyue Kiln - these three highlights are the most commendable characteristic resources of our village, make good use of them, firmly follow the road of integrated development, and make our days better and better. Now we have established the Chengdu Mingyue Rural Tourism Professional Cooperative, and developed special cultural and creative products such as Mingyue Brewing, Mingyue Handmade Tea, and Mingyue Pottery, so that tourists can bring home the "Mingyue" series of cultural and creative products, and also sell them to all parts of the country.

I am not the only young person returning home. The biggest feeling in recent years is that more and more young people in the village have returned to their hometowns to start a business, and villagers do not have to leave their hometowns to get the opportunity to start a business and generate income. In the hometown, everyone can enjoy the perfect infrastructure such as water, electricity, gas, network, roads, etc., as well as various cultural and sports spaces, which is not worse than in the city. It is worth mentioning that the "Lei Zhu Spring Shoot Art Month" and the "Mid-Autumn Poetry Concert", ceramic exhibitions, guqin poetry clubs and other activities held for 11 consecutive years have greatly enhanced the reputation of Mingyue Village, and also enriched the spiritual and cultural life of the villagers, and I can even read a full sense of happiness and satisfaction from their smiling faces.

In the new year, I hope that there will be many tourists, the IP influence of Mingyue Village can be continuously improved, and I hope that new villagers and indigenous people can be deeply integrated into all aspects of rural revitalization and development, so as to jointly achieve the goals of living and working in peace and contentment, mutual assistance and integration, co-construction, co-creation and sharing.

New and old villagers create and share the ideal home

Chen Qi (Founder of Chengdu Qicun Cultural Creation)

Writing a Chapter of Cultural Tourism in the New Era The new journey confirms that youth has no regrets

▲ Chen Qi (first from the right) plans the future with the villagers in the field

In the past 10 years, Mingyue Village, Ganxi Town, Pujiang County, Chengdu, Sichuan Province, has welcomed 100 new villagers, including many potters, fashion designers, architects, planners, poets, painters, etc. They transformed the idle old houses in the village into a rural culture museum, a pottery workshop, a grass and wood dyeing workshop, and built cafes, homestays, bookstores in nature... The villagers also opened farms and restaurants. College students continue to return to their hometowns to develop ecological agriculture, operate homestays, and create and share new and old villagers to build ideal homes.

My hometown is in Pujiang County, and I have never been to Mingyue Village before. In April 2014, because of an activity of the rural reading promotion organization "3+2 Reading Club", I came to Mingyue Village by chance and ignited the pastoral dream in my heart. After being invited, I quit my job in the city and joined Pujiang Urban and Rural Construction and Development Co., Ltd. in 2014 as deputy general manager in charge of the Mingyue Village project. In this way, I became the "qi village chief" as everyone called it, and this place became my new home.

Beautiful things require too many people's efforts. When we joined, the only cultural and creative projects in the village were Mingyue Kiln, and later Mingyue Village successively introduced more than 50 rural cultural and creative tourism projects and more than 100 artists and makers. Nowadays, more than 30 cultural and creative projects such as the Shushan Kiln Ceramic Art Museum and the Mingyue Cherry Garden have been completed and opened to the public. Mingyue Village has also been awarded more than 40 national, provincial and municipal awards such as National Civilized Village, National Rural Industry High-quality Development "Top Ten Models", and National Rural Tourism Key Villages, and has been selected as the United Nations International Sustainable Development Pilot Community.

The infrastructure of the village has been improved, and the children's cultural activities after school are colorful. The village is beautiful, tourists are coming, and the sales channels for agricultural products are smooth. Every time I go back to the village, I will go to Brother Yang's house, and his family is a microcosm of the changes in Mingyue Village. When Brother Yang graduated from high school more than 20 years ago, there were only three tattered mud brick houses in the family. He and his wife, Sister Li, built a warm and beautiful home with craftsmanship and hard work. In the past 10 years of changes in Mingyue Village, Sister Li has opened a restaurant "Bean Flower Rice", and Brother Yang has built many buildings for new and old villagers.

In recent years, the house of Brother Yang's family has changed little by little, first transforming the pigsty into a bright restaurant, and later building a long corridor with wood on the roof, friends and guests can sit and drink tea in the corridor, and then built three wooden houses, sharing one to a calligrapher and painter, hoping that the calligraphers and painters can enrich the connotation of Mingyue Village together. Under the same roof, new and old villagers cultivate and write the new future of the village.

I think that the code for the revitalization of the village can be summarized as "returning power, returning to the position, and empowering", respecting, understanding, trusting and empowering the villagers, so that the villagers can become the main body of rural construction, providing them with resources and support, and allowing the villagers to better regain their local cultural self-confidence.
