The Shanghai Qingpu procuratorate prosecuted defendant Tong mou for the crime of illegal detention, and the court sentenced him to 10 months' imprisonment on suspicion of constituting illegal detention.
Tong Mou divorced in his early years, and his children left home to work when they grew up, and he often wandered alone in various bars. In August 2020, he met the waiter Xiaoxiang at the newly opened KTV to take the initiative to talk, the two became familiar, established a boyfriend and girlfriend relationship at the end of the same month, and the next day, Tong moved to Xiaoxiang's rental house to live together. Unexpectedly, not long after, Tong disliked Xiaoxiang working in KTV and interacted with other men, and the two quarreled. At the beginning of August this year, Xiaoxiang officially proposed to break up and asked her ex-boyfriend to move out of the rental house.
After Tong moved away, he had no intention of working, and he had evil thoughts, thinking that "even if it is tied, he must take Xiaoxiang back to his hometown in Anhui and accompany me to live a couple life for a few days." ”

Upon review, defendant Tong X forcibly took the victim away from his home with handcuffs, hoods, and other tools, and his act of illegally depriving others of their personal freedom by means of detention violated China's criminal law and constituted the crime of illegal detention, and the procuratorial organs initiated a public prosecution against him. On December 3, the court sentenced Tong to 10 months in prison for the crime of illegal detention.
