In 1937, on the eve of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, He Yun was transferred out of the attendant's room, and because of his old feelings, Chiang Kai-shek specially awarded him the rank of "Major General Counselor".
He did not have to go to Nanjing again, but idly received a high salary in Hangzhou, and usually Chen Lifu would take care of him.
But he was also given two orders:
First, it is not allowed to go out at will, and it is best to stay at home to recuperate, in case some trouble is caused by appearance and damage to old Jiang's face; second, it is forbidden to disclose to anyone about his use as a stand-in.
After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japan, in the second half of 1937, seeing the Japanese attack on Hangzhou, He Yun ran back to his hometown of Jiande for refuge and closed his door all day.
