In March 1935, Chiang Kai-shek and his party came to Guiyang to supervise the war. Before Chiang Kai-shek had the death order that anyone who wanted the Red Army to cross the Wujiang River would come to see him, Wang Jialie, seeing that he knew that he could not defeat the Red Army, asked for support from the nearest Xue Yue, but Xue Yue did not bird him at all, so they had to come to see Chiang Kai-shek to intercede.
