Dai Kasa had a strong desire for power throughout his life, but he always refused to become a member of the Kuomintang Central Committee, and for this reason, he even had to serve as the deputy director of the Military Command bureau for a long time, and gave up the director to others to concurrently serve.
Why?
In 1938, the two major secret service agencies of the Kuomintang were upgraded to the Central Bureau of Command and the Bureau of Military Command. Among them, the Military Command Bureau, where Dai Kasa belonged, first served as the director of the bureau with Qian Dajun, and then with He Yao as the director of the bureau. Dai Kasa, who has worked hard and done a lot, can only be the deputy director.
The main reason is that Dai Kasa's seniority in the party is not enough.
To put it bluntly, his status in the Kuomintang is not high.
In order to promote Dai Kasa, Chiang Kai-shek once designated him as a member of the Central Committee before the plenary meeting, so that he could be promoted to the head of the authorities. Moreover, he told the brothers Chen Guofu and Chen Lifu, who were in charge of party affairs, that they must do the same. Unexpectedly, Er Chen unexpectedly found that Dai Kasa was not even a member of the Kuomintang, so how could he talk about being a member of the Central Committee?!
Chiang Kai-shek was very strange when he heard this: "How come Dai Kasa is not even a party member?" "I didn't believe it, I suspected that Er Chen was behind the ghost, so I called Dai Kasa over.
He asked Dai Kasa in person: "You are a huangpu student, a member of the Revival Society, and you have worked around me for so many years, why are you not a party member?" ”
Dai Kasa replied, "I am devoted to following the principal, and I am not afraid of lack of food and clothing, and the future is hopeless." Joining the Party or not joining the Party is by no means something that students should pay attention to. High-ranking officials houlu, not what I want. ”
Why did he say that?
Because Chiang Kai-shek liked his subordinates the most, they did not seek high-ranking officials and had no desire for power. Dai Kasa's move was to curry favor with Chiang Kai-shek. When Chiang Kai-shek heard this, he was very happy, and immediately wrote a note in his own handwriting and handed it over.
Dai Kasa thought that he had sent him some special fee, so he took a look at it and wrote:
"Chiang Kai-shek introduced Dai Kasa as a member of the Chinese Kuomintang."
Dai Kasa held the note in his hand, but still insisted: "I firmly request to be a lifelong student without students and not a member of the Central Committee." The high position of the CENTRAL Committee should be given to other big brothers. As long as the headmaster can trust me, it will be a great honor. ”
As a result, Dai Kasa still became a non-party person.
However, Chiang Kai-shek liked and trusted him even more.
In 1945, the Kuomintang held the Sixth Plenary Session in Chongqing, and Chiang Kai-shek identified Dai Kasa, who was still a non-Party figure, as a candidate for the Central Committee. At the same time, the Military Command Bureau was also encircled by two deputy bureau chiefs, Zheng Jiemin and Tang Zhong. The so-called candidate is just a formality. Dai Kasa wants to choose, with chiang kai-shek's backstage endorsement, it is certainly no problem. But he still said: "It is better for the party officials to give up." "Still stubborn.
Dai Kasa himself was not a member of the central committee, but he put on a big banquet, held a Beijing opera hall meeting, and invited a large number of veteran central committee and new card representatives to solicit votes for Zheng Jiemin and Tang Zhong.
After Zheng Jiemin was elected, he said to people: "The ghost tricks of the rain farmers always please the old man. ”
Dai Kasa did not join the Kuomintang for a long time and refused to be a member of the CPC Central Committee twice, but in fact, his calculation was one: to please Chiang Kai-shek's subordinates who did not seek fame and fortune.
