On 8 December 2021, the Scottish Open in Snooker continued. Higgins avenged Sankam 4-1, while Murphy and Yan Bingtao were upset in the first round of the main tournament. In the first eight second round matches, O'Sullivan defeated Liang Wenbo 4-3 in a wonderful matchup and advanced to the round of 16 with Maguire, Selby, Brechel and other players.
The first round of the ten delays was played first. Sancham has beaten Higgins twice this season to secure a three-game winning streak against The Wizard, making him one of the latter's new masters. Murphy was twice equalized by Li Xing with two leads, and lost two consecutive sets in the final moments, losing 2-4. So far, the top 16 players who played in the first round have a total of three outs (Wilson, Yan Bingtao, Murphy) and six advances (Maguire, O'Sullivan, Selby, McGill, Higgins, Trump).
Other competitions. Holt tested positive for COVID-19 and was forced to retire, with Leary advancing straight to the top and will face Trump for the third time in a month. Wu Yize made a low-level mistake in the decider, losing 3-4 to Wafi. Xu Si shot a 3-shot 60+ to eliminate Dahdi 4-2. Anda Anda shot a 98 to beat Mann 4-1.
Eight second-round matches were played locally at night. O'Sullivan's game with Liang Wenbo was spectacular, with the Rockets scoring 86 and 95 points at 0-1, 1-2, twice to tie the score. After that, O'Sullivan scored 131 points in a single shot, and Liang Wenbo returned the 128-point break to a 3-3 draw.
