In addition, the objects in the box this time are also different from before, Lu Xiaoman once opened the box and burned one of Xu Zhimo's lovelorn diary that pursued Lin Hui during his failure in Beiping, and then Xu Zhimo put in AiMei Xiaoza, Mei Xuan Trivia and some later letters.
After Xu's death, Hu Shi began to initiate the compilation of the Complete Works of Xu Zhimo, communicating with Shen Congwen, and when he learned that Shen Congwen knew that Xu's old manuscripts and letters were all in Ling Shuhua's place, he used this as an excuse to ask Ling Shuhua for it.
After comprehensively examining Hu's friendship with Xu and his relationship with Lin, Ling took out the log of Lin's involvement from the box and handed it to him. But he didn't want this box to fall into Lin's hands that day, and he also read all the content related to Lu Xiaoman.
Later, Lin called Ling home on the grounds that he wanted to hand over his letters to Xu in order to pass on Xu's message, and as soon as Ling arrived, Lin asked for Na Kangqiao's diary.
