Recently, Harry and Meghan attended the 2021 "Salute to Freedom" gala on the eve of Veterans Day in the United States and Armistice Day in the United Kingdom, and praised the value of servicemen and their families. Harry wears a black suit and the Royal Victoria Medal, while Meghan wears a red dress, both wearing a poppy on their clothes.
Christina Garibaldi, a royal reporter for America Weekly, said: "Meghan was dazzling in a red V-neck gown, and she and Harry were both smiling, which was a tribute to the Freedom Gala in New York. ”
That evening, the two walked hand in hand on the red carpet outside the Intrepid Marine, Air and Space Museum. Megan told reporters she was always proud of Harry.
After awarding the Intrepid Valor Award to five service members, veterans and military families, Harry talked about how his military experiences have shaped him today.
He told the audience at the Intrepid Museum: "It's fantastic to be back here again 10 years after my last visit to the intrepid aircraft carrier. A lot has changed since then. Just last week, I took a ride in An Oscar Mayer's Wienermobile, which fulfilled the American Dream. ”
"I've lived in the U.S. for almost two years. It has to be said that it is remarkable and very respectful to see you supporting all those who have risked their lives in order to defend our freedom and our lives. ”
"It also reminds me of the deep respect we Britons have for our army. The armed forces of our two countries have a special bond, and I am grateful to you for supporting our joint alliance for many years. ”
Harry served in the military for 10 years and traveled to Afghanistan twice. Since 2014, Harry has organized the Never Give In Games for wounded servicemen and veterans.
He added: "As the UK commemorates and reflects on Memorial Day, I hope that all of us will continue to support the well-being of our army, our veterans, the entire army and the families in service, and recognise their value. Tomorrow is Veterans Day in America, and we and they all get better because of it. ”
