She was a hero who came out of Jinggangshan, followed the organization to fight everywhere, and in peacetime, she was an official to the deputy ministerial level, while the eldest son refused to stay by her side and chose to return to the countryside to work as a farmer, and the two grandsons also took root in the countryside, never touched the light, and twice refused family requests for faith.

Why did the son of a vice-ministerial high-ranking official refuse to stay with his mother and choose to go home to farm? Why did she refuse her family's requests twice?

This bizarre story of ups and downs has to start from the turbulent revolutionary years of that year.

This vice-ministerial cadre, named Zeng Zhi (formerly known as Zeng Zhaoxue), was the wife of Tao Zhu, former vice premier of the State Council, and was born in 1911 in a well-off family in Yizhang County, Hunan Province.

She remarried tao zhu at the age of 26, sent away her three sons because of the revolution, and in order to believe in the revolutionary past of her family Zeng Zhi twice, she bid farewell to her children for the revolution and looked for the final confession of the hero after the founding of the country

At the age of 13, she was admitted to Hengyang No. 3 Girls' Normal School with excellent results, and when she entered the school, she was influenced by various new ideas and gradually became a progressive young woman with independent thoughts. During her time at the school, she actively participated in anti-feudal and anti-warlord activities, and pursued a social atmosphere of independence and equality between men and women.

In 1926, she entered the Hengyang Peasant Movement Training Institute, renamed Zeng Zhi, vowed to fight for the ambitions of contemporary women, and from this moment on, the ideals contained in the name Zeng Zhi accompanied her throughout her life. During her studies at the workshop, she joined the Communist Party of China and formally embarked on the road of revolution. Here she also met her first husband, Xia Mingzhen.

Although Xia Mingzhen was born in a family of officials and eunuchs, he was influenced by his elder brother Xia Minghan and embarked on the road of revolution without hesitation. At the Peasants' Training Center, Xia Mingzhen served as provost, and the two progressive youths of the new era soon fell in love. Zeng Zhi also wrote a letter to his mother at this time, resolutely resisting the marriage contract that the family had already made for her.

In 1927, Zeng Zhi was appointed as an officer of the Organization Department of the Hengyang Prefectural Committee of the Communist Party of China, married Xia Mingzhen, the head of the Organization Department, and the two became enviable revolutionary lovers from teachers and students. However, this good life had only just begun and was broken by the counter-revolutionary forces. In March 1928, the bloody rain of counter-revolution spread throughout Shonan, and Xia Mingzhen was cut down by counter-revolutionaries in the "anti-white incident" in Chenxian County shortly after participating in the Hunan Uprising, and died heroically.

After witnessing the death of her husband Xia Mingzhen, she turned her grief into motivation and vowed to inherit Xia Mingzhen's legacy and fight for the Chinese revolution all her life. Soon after, Zeng Zhi met his second husband, Cai Xiemin, at this time Cai Xiemin came to Chenxian County to carry out the work of appeasing the people, and Zeng Zhi, who knew the situation in Shonan, became his right-hand man, and the work of appeasing the people was carried out in an orderly manner.

Through frequent contact in revolutionary work, Zeng Zhi gradually developed a special affection for Cai Xiemin, like a wildflower in spring, which filled the entire heart field, and the simple and sincere love burned up like dry firewood.

In April 1928, Zeng Zhi followed the Central Special Committee to Jinggangshan to start a new job, and two young people with similar encounters and like-minded people entered the palace of marriage under the mediation of superior leaders, becoming the enviable "Liang Zhu in the army".

However, at this time, Zeng Zhi unexpectedly found that he was already pregnant, and the child in his belly was Xia Mingzhen's widow, and after the couple discussed, they made up their minds to give birth to this child.

In the late autumn of 1928, two women in a house in Dajing Village, Jinggangshan, looked anxious, carrying water basins in and out, and they were busy delivering children to Zeng Zhi, a Red Army cadre. At this time, Cai Xiemin, who was sitting at the door waiting, was also nervous, and he hoped that his wife would be able to give birth safely.

Suddenly, a burst of baby cries came out of the house, Cai Xiemin rushed into the delivery room, picked up the white and fat baby boy, and the hanging heart finally fell, he looked happy, held the baby boy on his chest for a long time, and quickly returned to the army.

At that time, the Red Army contingent could be transferred at any time, and the young Zeng Zhi was extremely inconvenient to take a child who was not yet a month old, so he had the idea of giving him to others to raise.

During Zeng Zhi's confinement period, there was a big sister named Lai Feng'e who took good care of her, she was a local, and she gave birth to a child three years ago, but unfortunately died. One day, Zeng Zhi tentatively said his thoughts, and Lai Feng'e was overjoyed and repeatedly confirmed to Zeng Zhi. After Zeng Zhi finished explaining, he happily agreed to her request.

Lai Feng'e left with the children, Zeng Zhi looked at their backs, the pain in her heart suddenly appeared, and she couldn't help but leave tears.

Zeng Zhi, who had bid farewell to her children, returned to Ciping and reported to the former commissioner, where she received new instructions. In January 1929, in the snowy weather, she followed the Red Fourth Army out of Jinggangshan and set out for Gannan. Zeng Zhi and Cai Xiemin did not have time to look at the child, so they bid farewell to this land and embarked on a new journey.

Although Zeng Zhi and his wife left Jinggangshan, the newborn baby boy remained in Jinggangshan forever, and after The couple adopted the child, they took good care of him and named him Shi Laifa, hoping that he could see the final victory of the revolution. A few years later, Shi Laifa's adoptive father was arrested, the counter-revolutionaries beat him to death, and his adoptive mother Lai Feng'e died soon after.

Only 8-year-old Shi Laifa was left alone, fortunately Shi Laifa's grandmother adopted him, taking him around with his young children, walking through the villages and alleys, begging for a living.

After Zeng Zhi and his wife were transferred to Fujian to work, they gave birth to two children, but they could not stay with them, and the surviving one was also entrusted to the locals for adoption, and they were not recognized until after the founding of the Country.

Later, due to some special reasons, Cai Xiemin had to break up with Zeng Zhi and came to Xiamen alone to carry out underground work, and later was betrayed by traitors in the process of finding the organization, and heroically rebelled in Fujian.

In 1937, under the assignment of the party organization, Zeng Zhi and Tao Zhu went to Xiamen in the name of a husband and wife to carry out revolutionary work, and in the arduous revolutionary struggle, the two became in love for a long time and became husband and wife. In 1941, he gave birth to his daughter Tao Siliang.

Although she gave her three sons to others for the revolution, she was not an impersonal revolutionary. After the founding of New China, in order to find his own flesh and bones, Zeng Zhi spared no effort to inquire around. When she was transferred to the deputy secretary of the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee, she entrusted someone to find the child she had given to others to raise, Zeng Chunhua.

But unfortunately, due to the harsh environment at that time, Zeng Chunhua was suffering from illness, could not get timely treatment, has become disabled, after seeing Zeng Chunhua, Zeng Zhi took him to his side and sent him to school to study, and Zeng Chunhua, who was disabled, later became a worker.

Although the third son was found, the eldest son left behind in Jinggangshan was still missing. She constantly sent people to Jinggangshan to look for an old soldier surnamed Shi, and in 1951, with the help of the local government of Jinggangshan, a news that made her feel excited came: although Shi Libao had died, his son Shi Laifa was still in the local area.

People thought that Shi Laifa had found his mother who was a high official, and he would never have to go back to his hometown to farm, but Shi Laifa made an unexpected decision.

In 1951, Shi Laifa went to Guangzhou with the help of the government and met his mother, whom he had never met. Zeng Zhi, who rarely shed tears, finally couldn't help it this time, and excitedly left hot tears, 23 years of concern, 23 years of nostalgia finally completely burst out at that moment.

Later, in the process of conversation, Zeng Zhi learned that when his eldest son Shi Laifa was 8 years old, he followed his grandmother to beg for a living, suffered all the suffering in the world, and was illiterate, and could not even write his own name. At that moment, the bitterness of more than 20 years came to her heart, and she felt that she owed too much to her eldest son and could not make up for it, so she said to Shi Laifa: "Stay in Guangzhou, go to the factory to work during the day, and go to night school to study at night." ”

Shi Lai was silent for a long time after listening, and he said slowly, "Mother, forget it, I have already started a family and been assigned to the field." My grandmother, who is in her 80s, still needs me to go to the pension to send me to the end, and I have to talk about conscience! ”

Shi Laifa's words deeply shook Zeng Zhi, she did not expect that her illiterate son had such filial piety, until the grace of dripping water should be repaid with a gushing spring, so she agreed to Shi Laifa's idea and let him return to Jinggang Mountain.

In 1964, Shi Laifa went to Guangzhou for the second time to visit Zeng Zhi, this time with another purpose, that is, he wanted to stay in Guangzhou, but zeng Zhi was forced to drive him back, telling him not to escape and face the problem.

In 1985, Zeng Zhi had already been appointed deputy director of the Central Organization Department, and when he returned to Jinggangshan, the Shi Laifa family was still working as a farmer, and their lives were very difficult, so they wanted to go to Beijing for help. Shi Laifa came to Beijing with his sons Shi Jinlong and Shi Caolong, but the two grandsons did not find the imaginary "golden clothes and jade food", Zeng Zhi's home is very simple, there is nothing special.

At dinner before leaving, Shi Jinlong boldly made a request to his grandmother to convert the rural household account into a commodity grain household, but Zeng Zhi refused. At that time, Shi Jinlong was still unwilling, and a few years later, he privately asked Zeng Zhi's secretary to help solve the problem of "agricultural to non-agricultural", but the secretary told him that he could not help without Zeng Zhi's permission.

Only then did Shi Jinlong understand that in Zeng Zhi's heart, the principle of organization was supreme, and it was impossible to destroy it with his own hands. Even if you love your children, you must obey the interests of the revolution, the interests of the people.

In April 1998, Zeng Zhi, who was seriously ill, asked Tao Siliang to inform Shi Laifa and Zeng Chunhua to visit Beijing, but asked that only representatives be sent. Zeng Zhi lay on the hospital bed, trembled and called Shi Jinlong, and said to him in a weak voice: "Grandma did not leave you anything, can you forgive Grandma?" Hearing these words, Shi Jinlong finally couldn't help but cry bitterly.

On June 21, 1998, Zeng Zhi passed away, and this hero who fought for women's ambitions completed 87 years of life. According to her will, Zeng Zhi did not set up a spiritual hall or inform his relatives and friends outside Beijing. She also instructed her body to be dissected by the hospital, and part of the cremated ashes were buried under the tree of Babao Mountain, part of it was buried under the tree of Jinggang Mountain, and the rest was buried under the large stones of Baiyun Mountain.

When Tao Siliang escorted the ashes back to Jinggangshan, the Shi Laifa family, who lived in the local area, learned that Zeng Zhi had passed away. Their ashes were scattered near the tomb of the Red Army martyr in Xiaojing, and a cypress tree was planted on the mound where the ashes were buried, and an ordinary stone was erected on which was engraved with the words "Soul Returns to Jinggang, Zeng Zhi, a veteran soldier of the Red Army." Zeng Zhi finally arrived at the place where her soul was haunted, and returned to the comrades she had been worried about all her life.

Later, when the family was sorting through the relics of Zeng Zhi's drawer, they found more than 80 envelopes, which were all wages saved over the years, and she transferred the money to the old cadre bureau and donated it to children in the mountains of Hunan.

After Zeng Zhi's death, the Shi Laifa family still worked hard in Luofu Town, Jinggangshan, always remembering the instructions of their predecessors and relying on their own hands. I never mentioned that my mother was a high official outside, but silently a farmer, working hard in the field.

Although his grandson, Shi Caolong, is 60 years old, he still works as a security guard at the Jiangxi Cadre College in Jinggangshan. In his spare time, he would also personally give lectures to cadres from all over the country about the hero who came out of Jinggangshan.
