Hao Lixin: What a rich ideological legacy Marx has left us

Hello everyone, this year marks the 200th anniversary of Marx's birth, and at this special moment, followers, believers, and admirers of Marxism all over the world are commemorating this day. It has been more than 130 years since Marx's death and more than 170 years since the birth of Marxism, and the influence of Marxism has not gradually disappeared with the death of Marx, but has had a greater and greater impact with the development of practice. Here's why we're all thinking. Marx has left us a rich intellectual legacy, what is this legacy? In Engels's words, he left us with two great discoveries—one great discovery of materialistic history, and the other great discovery of the theory of surplus value. These two major discoveries have revealed the general law of the development of human society, the law of the development of capitalist society, and the historical necessity of the transition from capitalism to socialism, the inevitable demise of capitalism, and the inevitable victory of socialism. As we commemorate Marx here today, I think the most important thing is to learn marx's scientific spirit, his practical spirit, and the spirit in which he devoted his life's energy to the cause of the liberation of mankind. Marx's thought has been inherited and developed by future generations, so when we mention Marx today, we mention Marxism, not only to understand what Marx himself said, but also to develop Marx's thought and develop Marxism in light of the development of the times and the progress of practice. In contemporary China, Marx's thought has shown the charm of truth and morality even more. That is to say, Marx's thought still has great contemporary value, it occupies the commanding heights of truth and morality, and we still live in the law of social development revealed by Marx, such a scope, such an era. Marxism is not obsolete! Judging from today's practice, socialism with Chinese characteristics is precisely the product of the integration of the basic principles of scientific socialism expounded by Marxism with China's reality. Just as Comrade Xi Jinping said, socialism with Chinese characteristics is the theoretical logic of scientific socialism and the organic unity of the historical logic of China's social development, and we must promote the development of Marxism in the 21st century and the development of contemporary Chinese Marxism in the benign interaction between practical innovation and theoretical innovation.
