Once, "Murong Ba" fell off his horse and broke his teeth, and Murong Hao renamed him Murong Que, and later felt that he had fulfilled a certain proverb and changed his name to "Murong Chui".
Murong Chui, who also had good looks and talent, was not the eldest son, could not be a prince, could not inherit the throne, and was doomed to live unhappily in Former Yan. Especially after Murong Hao's death and the crown prince Murong Jun ascended the throne, because of Murong Jun's jealousy, because of the worries of the empress dowager and some ministers, Murong Chui had to be a man with his tail between his legs at all times.

The King of Qin heard that Dazai was a pawn, and Yin had the ambition of Tu Yan, and he was afraid of his prestige and did not dare to send it. And smell the hanging, the great joy, the suburbs greeted, the hand said: "Born of a virtuous master, will be together with the great achievements, this natural number also." It is necessary to set the world with Qing, declare Daizong, and then return qing benbang and seal Youzhou in the world, so that Qing will not lose the filial piety of his son when he goes to the country, and return to the kingdom without losing the loyalty of the king, not also beautiful! ”
Former Qin king Gong Jian originally wanted to destroy Former Yan, but he was only afraid of Murong Chui, and when he heard that Murong Chui had come to defect, he was overjoyed, personally went to the outskirts to greet him, and cordially took Murong Chui's hand and said, This is Providence, we will jointly peace the world, and return your homeland to you before and after.
Murong Chui just snorted and said that I was lucky to be alive under the fence, and I did not dare to have other extravagant hopes. However, he was both a talent and a relative of the enemy country, and many ministers of Former Qin urged Murong Jian not to raise tigers for trouble, but Murong Chui, who was originally unclear in reward and punishment, was very fond of Murong Chui and had been trying to exclude the public opinion for Murong Chui. Even Murong Chui's wife was deeply favored by Jian Jian, and the Zizhi Tongjian records:
Lady Murong Chui was fortunate to be able to swim with jian, who traveled with him in the backyard.
Since then, Murong Chui has always been a man with his tail between his legs in Former Qin, and did not dare to offend Former Qin's ministers. Even when Qin Fa attacked and destroyed the Former Yan state in 369 AD, his son was framed and killed by former Qin chancellor Wang Meng on the battlefield.

Former Qin destroyed Former Yan and continued to increase its national strength, and successively conquered Bashu, destroyed Former Liang and Daiguo, and pacified the Thirty-six Kingdoms of the Western Regions, once becoming the most powerful country north of the Yangtze River. Jian Jian's ambitions, like Cao Cao before the Battle of Chibi, wanted to unify the world, and at that time, the Manchu Dynasty Wenwu was opposed to sending troops to the Eastern Jin Dynasty, except for Murong Chui and Yao Cang.
Murong Chui's descendants said to Murong Chui that the Xingfu Great Yan had done just that, and Murong Chui said:

At that time, all the armies were defeated, but Murong Chui had 30,000 men alone.
Jian Jian's 800,000 troops, except for Murong Chui's 30,000 men, were almost completely annihilated. Murong Chui's close associates all advised him to take the opportunity to kill Jian Jian, but Murong Chui insisted on leaving Jian Jian's life because of gratitude, which was regarded as a return for his kindness. Subsequently, troops were sent to capture Yecheng, and most of the former Yan troops that lurked responded and supported Murong Chui, and then attacked Luoyang and Xingyang, claiming to be the King of Yan. The powerful Former Qin was torn apart, Yao Cang took the opportunity to establish Later Qin, Murong Hong also took the opportunity to establish Western Yan, and after Jian Jian's death, Former Qin led Former Qin to survive until its demise in 394.
After more than 2 years of hard work, Murong Chui declared himself emperor, established Later Yan, attacked Zhai Wei, destroyed Western Yan, defeated Goguryeo, and attacked the Eastern Jin Dynasty to the Huai River to the south, basically restoring the territory of the Former Yan State when it was at its strongest.
However, after Murong Chui's death, the Later Yan state failed to jump out of the strange circle of brotherly strife and civil strife during the Five Hu and Sixteen Kingdoms period, and changed 7 emperors in only 24 years, and finally replaced by Northern Yan in 407.
Looking back, Murong Chui was unjust, and he could usurp the throne by preemptively attacking in the name of wei when he defeated Huan Wen, but he did not, but chose to avoid;
When his wife was fortunate to be killed by Jian Jian and his son was framed and killed, Murong Chui did not abandon himself and secretly give birth, but endured humiliation and burden and waited for the opportunity;
In the Battle of Shuishui, when The 800,000-strong army of Zhijian was completely destroyed, Murong Chui did not take advantage of the danger of the people, but let Zhijian repay his kindness, and finally completed the great cause of reviving Great Yan.
