People living in Haikou City should be familiar with Xunting Road. Xunting Road is named after a memorial pavilion, the full name of this memorial pavilion is Li Shuoxun Martyr Memorial Pavilion, there is a bust of Li Shuoxun martyr on the pedestal, the front of the base is Deng's chief designer inscription "Li Shuoxun martyr immortality", flanked by the biography of Li Shuoxun martyr and his masterpiece.

The book is very simple, only 103 words, and the original is kept in the Hainan Provincial Archives. This letter is not as famous as Lin Juemin's "Letter to His Wife", but it is also touching and admirable.
Tao: Yu Zaiqiong has already confessed that he is about to be sentenced within a day, and Yu is about to say goodbye to you for a long time. In the front, in the rear, several people died in the day, and Yu was also one of them. Don't grieve for me when you die, but hope to nurture my children well. You should try to send them home, and you should try to be self-reliant. After death, the corpse will always be collected, never allowed to come, a thousand instructions. Gentlemen
This is what Li Shuoxun wrote to his wife in prison. Not long after the letter was sent, one day in September 1931, he was heroically righteous at the Haikou East Campus. At only 28 years old, a short but brilliant life, it is worth remembering and learning from all of us.
Born in 1903, Li Shuoxun, after going to school, like many aspiring young people, was determined to save China. Among the many doctrines and parties at that time, Li Shuoxun chose Marxist doctrine and the Communist Party.
During his time at the school, he organized and participated in the student movement, showing his tenacious revolutionary will and organizational ability, and in 1924, after becoming a party member, he came to Shanghai and organized the May Thirtieth Movement. Let the flame of revolution blossom in Shanghai.
Also in this year, he met his wife, life partner, Zhao Juntao, it is worth mentioning that Zhao Juntao is Zhao Shiyan's sister, Zhao Shiyan is also one of the early leaders of our party, people who have seen "The Age of Awakening" are probably not strangers to him.
Li Shuoxun was different from other comrades, he knew the importance of the gun, which was related to his experience in the Northern Expedition, during the Northern Expedition in 1926, he was the director of the political department of the 25th Division of the Fourth Army, and later because Chang Kaishen betrayed the revolution and attacked our party, he and Premier Zhou and Commander-in-Chief Zhu launched the Nanchang Uprising.
At that time, Li Shuoxun was the party representative and director of the political department of the 25th Division, the main force of the uprising, and had high qualifications. Chen Yi and Lin Biao, who became founding marshals after the founding of the People's Republic of China, were his subordinates.
Marshal Chen was a party representative of the 73rd Regiment of the 25th Division, and Marshal Lin was the company commander of the 73rd Regiment. It can be seen that if Li Shuoxun had not sacrificed, his status after the founding of the Country should not have been low. Of course, this is my wishful thinking.
After the uprising was frustrated, Li Shuoxun was dispatched by Commander-in-Chief Zhu to Report to the organization in Shanghai. Later, he stayed in Shanghai to carry out the work of the white area.
From 1927 to 1931, li Shuoxun traveled to and from Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Henan, Anhui and Shanghai. Dozens of uprisings were planned, and Red Army units such as the 14th Army, the 15th Army and the 17th Army were prepared.
Li Shuoxun's work ability is extremely strong, and his position is naturally getting higher and higher. He was one of Premier Zhou's main military assistants, and Chairman Mao at that time was not taken seriously.
In 1931, Li Shuoxun, who was very capable, was sent to Hainan by the organization to take charge of the local revolutionary work. After Li Shuoxun arrived in Haikou, he still had time to hold a military conference with the local party organization, but he was arrested for betrayal by traitors.
The enemy did not know the exact identity of Li Shuoxun, only that he was a high official, in order to find out Li Shuoxun's identity. At first, the enemy was kind enough to persuade him to surrender, but he strictly refused.
The enemy, who was ashamed and angry, eventually tortured him, from the tiger stool to the pepper water to the whipping of the leather whip, almost all of the torture was exhausted. But the enemy exchanged only six words:
I am a member of the Communist Party
In addition, in front of the enemy, from beginning to end, Li Shuoxun did not reveal half a word, even if the enemy used up torture.
Seeing That Li Shuoxun was covered in bruises, the comrades in prison were very distressed, but Li Shuoxun was extremely calm, and he told the comrades: "If you want revolution, you can't be afraid of death." Please tell the party organization, I can stand it. ”
Li Shuoxun, who has been revolutionized for more than a decade, knows what the future will be like? But he did not have the slightest fear, but found a pen and paper, and wrote the above-mentioned letter.
The letter was only a hundred words, but it wrote Li Shuoxun's bravery as a revolutionary, his contempt for life and death, and his attachment and affection for his family.
Li Shuoxun's wife, when she got the last letter that Li Shuoxun tried her best to pass on, burst into tears, and seriously put away Li Shuoxun's last letter and preserved it to this day. In addition, she was not frightened by grief and enemies, but turned grief and indignation into strength, continued the revolution, and raised her husband's only son, Li Peng, and her widowed daughter Li Qiong.
Under the influence of his parents, Li Peng also engaged in a glorious revolutionary cause and later became the premier of the country. In 1985, Zhao Juntao died, and Li Peng, in accordance with his mother's last wishes, sent his mother's ashes to Haikou and buried them with his father, which is the Li Shuoxun Martyrs Memorial Pavilion on Xunting Road today.
