The martyr Li Shuoxun died at the age of 28, his wife did not remarry in his life, and his son became the prime minister

author:Long time together

At the end of 1938, Zhao Juntao, who was teaching for a living in Chengdu, Sichuan, suddenly received a notice from the party organization. She had only recently re-found the organization, and had lost contact with her former comrades for 6 years, and she really could not guess the purpose of this notice. However, Zhao Juntao still followed the organizational requirements and went to a hotel in Chengdu to meet with a "mysterious guest".

"After so many years of not seeing, you and your children have suffered."

Entering one of the guest rooms of the hotel, Zhao Juntao heard a familiar voice, and she looked at the person in front of her sheepishly, and tears couldn't help but flow down. It turned out that this "mysterious guest" was none other than Zhou Enlai's wife, Deng Yingchao. They fought side by side with Zhao Juntao and his wife in Shanghai and formed a very deep friendship. However, Zhao Juntao's husband, Li Shuoxun, died heroically in Hainan in September 1931.

"Sister Deng..."

Zhao Juntao choked up and couldn't speak, she had suffered too much over the years, and she couldn't imagine seeing the deceased again.

"Don't you cry, Enlai entrusted me to pick you up with your two children and go to Chongqing together."

After explaining his intentions, Deng Yingchao hurriedly left. Zhao Juntao also dressed up as a peasant woman and quietly rushed to Chongqing to meet Zhou Enlai. However, considering the urgency of the situation, she did not take her two children with her, but chose to go alone. Later, it was Deng Yingchao who returned to Chengdu again, and only then did he take the orphan of the martyr Li Shuoxun to Chongqing.

The martyr Li Shuoxun died at the age of 28, his wife did not remarry in his life, and his son became the prime minister
The old people who had been reunited for a long time were happy, but no one expected that Li Yuanpeng, who was only 10 years old at the time, would become prime minister in 50 years. And his story should start with his father, the martyr Li Shuoxun, who is a great hero in the history of our party.

When he was 3 years old, his father died heroically

Li Yuanpeng's father, Li Shuoxun, was born in 1903 in Yibin, Sichuan Province, and began to organize the student movement when he was in middle school in Chengdu. At the age of sixteen or seventeen, Li Shuoxun gradually came into contact with Marxism and formally joined the ranks of the revolution. Wanted by the Sichuan warlords for his active performance in the student movement, he went to Beijing at the end of 1922 to study, and then went to Shanghai University for further study, systematically studying Marxist theory.

In May 1924, Li Shuoxun successfully joined the party and became one of the early leaders of our party. During this period, he met and fell in love with Zhao Juntao, and was approved to marry in 1926. Zhao Juntao's position in the party at that time was not high, but her status was more special, and Zhao Shiyan was the brother of the young woman. After 2 years of marriage, Zhao Juntao gave birth to a baby boy, but at that time her husband was engaged in underground work in Zhejiang.

Half a year later, Li Shuoxun, who returned to Shanghai, saw his son for the first time, and he happily named him "Li Yuanpeng". The name has a history, Li Shuoxun told his wife, according to the family's generation ranking, the child should belong to the "far" generation. Therefore, he chose a poem by Bai Juyi, "Wanxin Chun Xi Xi, Baigu Qingqian Qian", as his son's name.

The meaning of "qian" represents the lush vegetation, which not only gives children good wishes, but also pins on the ideal of the revolutionary cause. However, the truth is not as smooth as Li Shuoxun and his wife imagined, and after 3 years they were separated by yin and yang.

From 1928 to 1930, Li Shuoxun worked in the Jiangnan area, traveling to Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai. But in the spring of 1931, he was transferred to the Central Revolutionary Base Area as the political commissar of the Red 7 Army. But Comrade Cai Hesen, who was the secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee at the time, died, and Li Shuoxun was selected to work in the temporary office in Hong Kong.

Zhao Juntao really missed her husband, so she arrived in Hong Kong with her son, who was only 3 years old, which became the last reunion of their family. A week later, Li Shuoxun took a ship to Hainan Island to work, and Zhao Juntao, who was pregnant, bid him a tearful farewell. Perhaps sensing that the situation was a little delicate, the wife kept telling her husband to write to herself when she arrived on Hainan Island.

However, she did not wait for her husband's "letter of peace", but only received a suicide note from him.

It turned out that li Shuoxun was betrayed by local traitors shortly after he came to Hainan Island. The hotel where he was staying was soon surrounded by Kuomintang groups, and the early leader of our party was unfortunately arrested. In order to obtain information from Li Shuoxun's mouth, the enemy used all kinds of torture to torture him to death. But for more than a month, Li Shuoxun kept secrets, which made the murderous reactionaries angry.

On September 5, 1931, Li Shuoxun was escorted by the enemy to the East Campus of Haikou City, and then heroically sacrificed. The great martyr was only 28 years old when he left, while the eldest son, Li Yuanpeng, was only 3 years old. Perhaps he would never know that Zhao Juntao, who was waiting for her husband to return from Hong Kong, had also conceived their daughter Li Yuanqin at that time.

Zhao Juntao, who learned of her husband's bad news, was devastated, but she soon became strong and took on the responsibility of raising children alone.

Zhao Juntao, who vowed not to remarry, tasted all the bitterness

After Li Shuoxun's death, the organization in Hong Kong was soon destroyed, and Zhao Juntao, who had no relatives, had to return to his hometown in Sichuan. The young son is only 3 years old, and there is a child in the belly that has not yet been born, and this widow has a very difficult life. Fortunately, the second brother Zhao Shishuang extended a helping hand and accepted the mother and son who were suffering. A few months later, Zhao Juntao gave birth to a daughter, Li Yuanqin, who later changed her name to Li Qiong in honor of her husband's sacrifice.

The situation was unclear, and it was difficult for orphans and widows to make ends meet. As a result, the relatives and friends around him began to advise Zhao Juntao to remarry. After all, she is still young, and there are a lot of good men who are willing to accept remarriage. But the strong woman politely refused, vowing not to remarry no matter how difficult it was, and to raise a pair of children alone.

As a result, Zhao Juntao found a job as a teacher in the Chengdu area and supported his family with a meager salary.

In Chengdu in the 1930s, it was not easy for a single woman to pull two children to grow up. Coupled with the fact that our party's organization was broken up, Zhao Juntao did not get in touch with the organization for 6 years. She taught at the school during the day, took care of her two children in person, and coaxed them to sleep while grading homework at night, and ran around "two o'clock and one line" all day. Many friends are not worth it for her, thinking that this is how bitter it is, but only Zhao Juntao understands the meaning of his persistence.

"My deceased husband told me in my suicide note that I must raise my children to become talented, and I will do it even after exhausting this life!"

Zhao Juntao and her husband Li Shuoxun not only have sweet marital feelings, but also have a strong revolutionary friendship. The relationship between them is not the love of the secular masses, but the life-and-death friendship that transcends love and friendship. For her husband who has already sacrificed, Zhao Juntao is both nostalgic and in awe. Since he can sacrifice himself for the cause of the revolution, why can't I sacrifice my ego to fulfill his last wish? Moreover, the children were shared by husband and wife, and Zhao Juntao did not want them to send people under the fence.

From the end of 1931 to August 1937, Zhao Juntao tasted all kinds of sour in the six years, and she experienced all kinds of snobbery and rumors in the market. But this woman never regretted it, and watching a pair of children grow up, her heart was finally relieved. Good things are still behind, just 6 years after missing contact with the organization, Zhao Juntao suddenly contacted the comrades again, which made her see hope.

After the formation of the "Anti-Japanese United Front", Comrade Li Yihao was sent to Sichuan to work, and he helped Zhao Juntao to contact the organization. The organization took into account her difficulties in life and gave some help and support, which made this great mother more relaxed. The cordial care of Premier Zhou and others has given Li Yuanpeng brothers and sisters the opportunity to grow, and they have all become useful people to society in the future.

He also became prime minister 50 years later

At the end of 1938, Li Yuanpeng's brothers and sisters were picked up in Chongqing by Deng Yingchao, who was folded back, and Zhou Enlai immediately received them. Especially after seeing the 10-year-old Li Yuanpeng, Zhou Enlai took him into his arms and stroked his head with great pleasure. Deng Yingchao told him that Zhao Juntao's mother and son had not been easy in these years, and it took a lot of effort to find them organizationally. Zhou Enlai looked at the malnourished Li Yuanpeng, and his expression became solemn again.

"We've been looking for you, but there's never been any news. Now, everyone is finally reunited. ”

Li Yuanpeng's body was very thin at that time, so he looked a bit hunchbacked, and Zhou Enlai also specially taught him to straighten his back. Since then, Zhao Juntao and others have stayed in Chongqing, and one of her sons and daughters has received a good education. Zhou Enlai was very concerned about the growth of the martyrs' orphans, and he often visited these children, sometimes personally guiding them to write their homework. In March 1941, Li Yuanpeng was sent to Yan'an to participate in the work, and Jiang Nanxiang, who was with him, changed his name.

"We all have to change our names after we get to Yan'an, your name is too strange, I think you are called Li Peng, which means Dapeng spreading its wings!"

Li Yuanpeng agreed after hearing this, and his mother stayed in the Chongqing nursery school, while her young sister was temporarily cared for by her mother. After 1945, Zhao Juntao arrived in Yan'an with his daughter and was reunited with his son "Li Peng". However, she was soon sent to the northeast region, specializing in education and sending a large number of professional talents to new China. And her daughter Li Qiong, as an adult, also shines in her post, until she can't move before retiring.

In April 1988, 50 years after being taken to Chongqing by Deng Yingchao, Li Peng, the widow of the martyr Li Shuoxun, was elected premier of the State Council. But unfortunately, the strong and great mother Zhao Juntao did not wait for this day, she died of illness in 1985 at the age of 83. In accordance with his last wishes, the ashes were placed in the "Li Shuoxun Martyrs Memorial Pavilion" in Haikou, and in this way they were buried with their husbands forever.

In July 1992, Comrade Deng Yingchao, known as "Sister Deng", had a high fever and fell into a coma, and Before his death, Li Peng and his wife came to visit. She glanced at the child she had already picked up from the past, said the word "Li Peng" with her last strength, and closed her eyes peacefully. Seventeen years later, the martyr's widow also passed away in July at the age of 91.
