Huang Su 27 Su Shi and Li Qingzhao: one begonia, two expressions

green fat red thin should know whether Huangzhou begonia comfort who chen

In Huangzhou, Su Shi was particularly fond of begonia flowers.
Begonia is a relatively special existence in the expression of intention of the ancient Chinese literati.
Begonia flowers, tang take harmonic hall, called "sea hall", has a full of rich and noble flower language, but when it comes to wealth, it is not as good as peony.
In the final analysis, in terms of secular aesthetics, the visual feeling brought by peony is indeed more impactful than that of begonia.
Therefore, Tang talents will use "peonies are delicate and chaotic, and a country is crazy to spend money" to pursue and raise prices.
But when it comes to the high, lonely, and cold mood, begonias cannot enter the same philosophical level as the plum blossoms, orchids, and chrysanthemums that the ancient literati most liked.
The arrogance of the plum blossom, the elegance of the orchid, the enthusiasm of the chrysanthemum, the ancients can easily give it a personified expression.
But what about begonias?
Here, we exclude begonias in the botanical sense, which visually is a very special flower that seems to be somewhere between a rich peony and a cold merlin.
Begonias have a short flowering period, blooming only for a short period of less than a month in late spring each year. The most famous literary expression of the begonia flower comes from Li Qingzhao, China's greatest female writer, "Like a Dream Order"
Last night the rain was sparse and the wind was strong, and the heavy sleep did not consume the wine.
Try to ask the curtain people, but the begonias are still the same.
Know it or not, know it or not? It should be green fat red thin.
When Yi Anju filled in this poem, it was the third year of Zhezong Yuanfu (1100), and Mr. Dongpo, who was alone overseas, was once again and for the last time ordered by the imperial court to return from Danzhou to prepare to return across the sea to the north. A year later, he died in Changzhou.
Sometimes, when we study, or dig into history, we find a lot of unexpected novelty.
Speaking of Li Qingzhao, who filled out such poignant and messy words, his father Li Gefei (Uncle Wen) was a student that Su Shi received in his later years.
During the Yuan Dynasty, when Su Shi was the brightest in his career, Li Gefei became one of Su Shi's four scholars, and in order to echo and distinguish himself from the world-famous Huang Qin Zhang Chao, he was later known as the "Four Scholars of Sumen".
Until he was demoted to Danzhou overseas, Su Shi was still thinking about this descendant. In a letter to Sun Xun (Zhi Kang), it is mentioned:
Uncle Li Wen had already received the book, and the sons, in order to learn quite a long time, sent poems from Yixing, which was very impressive.
(I have received Li Gefei's letters, and his children are very good at learning.) )
Li Gefei has a son and a daughter, and the daughter is Li Qingzhao, and the "son" in Su Shiwen should be the general title of the child, so we can say with satisfaction that Su Shi has read Li Qingzhao's poems and is very recognized.

Or go back to the late spring of the third year of Yuanfeng (1080), when Su Shi had not yet become Su Dongpo, when Su Shi was trying to break through from the lonely and confused depressed soul, the sudden appearance of a begonia was like a ray of light in these desperate lives.
As mentioned earlier, Su Shi first arrived in Huangzhou, temporarily lived in Dinghui Temple, closed the door every day, and only occasionally came to the courtyard late at night to drink alone and admire the moon, feeling sad about his misfortune.
One late night more than three hundred years ago, another immortal, Li Bai, with sorrow and anger that huai cai had never met, practiced wine as a friend, drank heavily, had great ambitions, and drank so much that he wanted to fly into the night sky to embrace the bright moon. As soon as he stood up, the Taibai Immortal found that he could not fly up, knowing that this full of ambition was nothing more than a dream. When the time was right, taking advantage of this state of mind, he wrote down a famous sentence throughout the ages:
……
Ju Huaiyi is excited and wants to fly, and wants to go up to the blue sky and catch the bright moon.
The water flowed more when the knife was cut off, and the toast was more sorrowful.
Life is not satisfactory in the world, and the Ming Dynasty distributes flat boats.
When alcohol paralyzes the nerves, the self in the soul who has given up the disguise appears, which is the logical deduction of "sorrow is more sorrowful".
So, how did Su Shi, who drank alone under the moon in Huangzhou, feel?
Thanks for watching and goodbye

"Re-understanding Su Dongpo" is my daily article from 2021 onwards, taking the place or event as a festival, telling the fragments of Su Shi's life every month, not seeking perfection, but seeking the heart to resonate with Po Gong for a moment.
Su Xue is already an outstanding study, and I do not beg for more novel contributions, but I ask the world to understand and understand Su Shi, a great soul that has been immortal for thousands of years, and has not wasted the "Su Writing Time" of the rest of his life.
It is for the day trek
