Rong Guotuan, born in the summer of 1937.
His father was a seafarer and led his family to a difficult life in Hong Kong. Later, Hong Kong was occupied by the enemy army, and they returned to their ancestral hometown of Guangdong.
Rong Guotuan Primary School attended Zhenxian School in Nanping Town, Zhuhai, because of poor family conditions, Rong Guotuan was born very thin when he was a child, not much higher than the ping-pong table.
But as if with a mission, the seven-year-old Rong Guotuan showed a unique talent in the sport of table tennis.

In 1945, after the victory of the Chinese War of Resistance, in order to maintain his livelihood, Rong Guotuan's father, Rong Mianzhi, went to Hong Kong again as a seafarer, and Rong Guotuan also followed his father to the Hong Kong Kindergarten School.
However, in that era, there was no foundation, and Rong Mian's meager income could not support the family at all.
Rong Guotuan looked at his parents who worked day and night, and finally decided to drop out of school, and at the age of 15, he did a child laborer to reduce the burden on the family.
The heavy work every day did not make this teenager fade his enthusiasm for life, and Rong Guotuan always liked to play table tennis very much.
Because his father was a member of the Hong Kong Workers' Organization, Yung could go to the trade union club to practice, which became the only place for him to go in his spare time.
On the ping-pong table, Rong Guotuan felt the release of the soul, and the imprisonment everywhere in life seemed to disappear at this moment.

In 1957, on behalf of the Federation of Trade Unions, Yung Kwok Tuan participated in the Hong Kong Table Tennis Championships held in Hong Kong, in which Rong GuoTuan shined and won the singles, doubles and team championships.
The excellent performance of this competition made Yung Guo Tuan very popular in Hong Kong.
Since ancient times, people like to be born badly, and then with the perfect persona who strives to finally counterattack, Rong Guotuan is very much in line with this image.
With the championship, Rong Guotuan was given the opportunity to face off against the world champion in April.
This competition also became an important turning point in Rong Guotuan's life. Without this competition, probably nothing would have happened later.
But the arrangement of fate is always incomprehensible and irresistible.
In late April, the Japanese table tennis team visited Hong Kong, and the world champion Di Mura was prominently listed.
Rong Guotuan represented Hong Kong against Di Cun, and the result was unexpected, and Rong Guotuan defeated Di Cun with a good result of winning two consecutive sets.
The light on Rong Guotuan's body was even worse, becoming a dazzling new star in the table tennis world.
After becoming famous, Rong Guotuan was somewhat unsuitable, and the people who had been obscure before had undergone earth-shaking changes in just a few months, and at this time, Rong Guotuan felt a little confused and did not know who he was fighting for.

But there was an incident that happened in the Hong Kong Table Tennis Federation that disgusted him. It was in early 1954 that Yung represented the Civics team in the Hong Kong Table Tennis Tournament.
However, in order to make the South China team win the championship, the Hong Kong Table Tennis Federation privately asked Rong Guotuan to talk, promising to give him a generous reward as long as he played match-fixing.

But in Rong Guotuan's mind, table tennis is the only spiritual sustenance and is sacred and inviolable. If he did play match-fixing, it would be tantamount to denying all his previous efforts.
After Yung Kuo Tuan resolutely rejected the Hong Kong Table Tennis Federation, he was retaliated against, causing him to lose many opportunities to participate.

That year also changed the fate of Rong Guotuan again.
In 1966, countless people were inevitably affected, and the sports system was no exception, and the players could no longer continue training and playing.
Among them, Rong Guotuan, who won the world championship, was charged with false charges only for the absurd reason of "overseas experience".
The praise of the past turned into countless criticisms, just like ten thousand arrows were sent to the Rong Guotuan, and the patriotic and sincere heart was wounded in this way.

When the bad news came, Rong Guotuan was momentarily in a trance. Before this, despite the many injuries suffered, Rong Guotuan had always had hope for the country, and he thought that one day it would be better.
But the news of his friend's suicide was like the last straw that crushed the camel, crushing his last will and dashing his hopes.

Late one night on June 20, 1968, Rong Guotuan's wife, Huang Xiuzhen, returned home after attending a battle, but found that her husband was not at home.

Because there were still children at home, Hong Xiuzhen only returned home with a worried and uneasy heart.
In the early morning of the next day, bad news came that someone had found Rong Guotuan's already stiff body under a tree by the lake.
At the age of 31, Rong Guotuan committed suicide, leaving behind his young children and wife.
He confessed his cowardice in his suicide note and begged his family to forget him forever, but it was not his responsibility, he was just one of the countless victims who were caught in the whirlpool.
In 1978, the National Sports Commission rehabilitated the Rongguo League.
