A few days ago, I occasionally saw the stills of Xiao Hong, a female writer of the Republic of China played by Tang Wei, on Baidu, which reminded me of the movie I saw seven or eight years ago ~ ~ "Golden Age", remembering the female writer Xiao Hong who had a rough life and the Republic of China era that was known as "how to live".
The period from 1911 to 1949 in the last century is known as the Republic of China era, in addition to warlord division, war, Japanese invasion of China, confrontation between the Kuomintang and the Communists, there is also a short period of economic development of the "golden decade". There are the "New Culture Movement" and "Masters of the Republic of China" who are talked about by the times, there are the national awakenings that yearn for "democracy, freedom, prosperity and strength", and there are many "Four Greats of the Republic of China" such as the Four Princes, the Four Beauties, the Four Talents, and the Four Famous Dans. Among them, Lü Bicheng, Xiao Hong, Shi Pingmei and Zhang Ailing, who are known as the "four talented women", are all talented, Zhang Ailing is the most famous, and Xiao Hong is the most bumpy. The movie "Golden Age" is to record Xiao Hong's tenacious standing on paper, and the life of small people in the torrent of the big era is floating to zero.
Fate is bumpy, turbulent, what a misfortune. In the year of the Wuchang Uprising, she was born into a landlord family in Hulan, a small county town in Heilongjiang, northeast China, and lost her mother at an early age, brought up by her grandfather. When he grew up, he ran away from marriage and studied, but he was tragically abandoned by his fiancé, and twice became pregnant with people (Xiao Jun) and married (Duanmu Hongliang), and the children died just after birth, which can be described as heart-wrenching. After a lifetime of war and chaos, he was impoverished and displaced, and died at the age of 31 at the hands of a quack doctor in a hospital in Hong Kong that had just fallen.

Such a talented, experienced, and perceptive northeastern woman only wants to write what she likes, only wants to live the conjugal life of a normal ordinary person but cannot, before her death, there is only a young writer Luo Binji who was entrusted to Duanmu Hongliang, and tragically left a painful last word that "half of her life was treated coldly, I died first, I am not willing, I am not willing", which is really lamentable.
Through the back of the paper, the sea and the sky, what kind of resistance is that. It was an era full of popularity and the pursuit of dreams, a group of young people had the chivalrous tenderness of "doing whatever you want", the loyalty to themselves of "pursuing what you want", the sea and sky of "flying as high as you want", the "wherever you want to go", the "want to get married", the willingness to "love whomever you want"... This spirit, integrity, appearance, habits, and etiquette were later called "Republic of China fans."
Zhang Naiying, who has little talent, was trapped in a hotel, and after being rescued by Xiao Jun, a progressive young man working in the newspaper, he knew and fell in love with each other, and his literary talents were able to play and changed his name to "Xiao Hong", and together with Xiao Jun, he became a "little Red Army" who was just emerging in the literary world.
They were dissatisfied with that era, they were not afraid of war, poverty and displacement, and with the "circle of friends" represented by Lu Xun, such as Nie Shuyi, Hu Feng, Mei Zhi, Jiang Xijin, Ding Ling, Duanmu Hongliang, and others, they encouraged each other to analyze that era, needle that era, and transform that era "with a pen as a knife."
Xiao Hong ~ ~ This talented woman, always with a pure heart, pursues love and freedom, and fights through articles that penetrate the back of the paper, praises the beauty of the world, exposes all kinds of ugliness and unbearableness, and gradually moves towards the "golden age" of her own creation.
Pity for each other, wisdom and kindness, what a warmth that is. In addition to showing Xiao Hong's life in a panoramic way, this film also shows us "another" Lu Xun. The image of Lu Xun, played by Wang Zhiwen, subverted my previous aggressive and serious mindset (his famous saying "horizontal eyebrows and cold fingers to a thousand fingers" is very domineering), although the poster is still "who you want to scold whom you want", but in the movie, like a life mentor, it gives people a sense of wisdom, open-mindedness and kindness. Whether in the film or in reality, Xiao Hong's guidance in literature, love in life and guidance in literary circles are given. In Xiao Hong's life, the time that may have been associated with Lu Xun was the warm time when she was appreciated, inspired, encouraged, cared for and most worth remembering.
I remember seeing such a passage when I was reading: When Xiao Hong asked Lu Xun if he was good-looking when he was wearing red clothes, Lu Xun replied ~ ~ "The color of red clothes and black skirts is very compatible", and he also taught Xiao Hong to wear clothes with secrets ~ ~ "People who are thin do not wear black clothes, and people who are fat do not wear white clothes." There is also this passage in the "Golden Age" movie, but the language is slightly different.
Xiao Hong also admired Lu Xun, and when she was in Shanghai, she often went to Lu Xun's home to ask for advice, and wrote articles many times after Lu Xun's death to mourn. In January 1937, Xiao Hong returned from Japan, and after arriving in Shanghai, she made a special trip to the Cemetery of All Nations to visit Mr. Lu Xun's tomb to express her sorrow.
Finally, let's talk about some of the feelings of watching "Golden Age" at that time:
First, the combination of film documentaries and literary films is very chic, and it also makes me like it. Nearly three hours of watching the film, the comments of contemporaries, although with the intention of director Xu Anhua, but also mostly reflect the historical facts and give interpretation to those who are not familiar with that period of history. The second is further life reflections on Xiao Hong. Xiao Hong has no higher education, and is an ordinary girl in Hulan County, Heilongjiang, Northeast China. Personality stems from childhood experiences, and literature is activated from within the circle. Even in that era of flamboyant personality, it was not very common in society. Although God is jealous of talent, talented people must be different and full of personality. What she left behind are the literary works "The Field of Life and Death", "The Legend of Hulan River", which have been recognized after decades of precipitation, and the unique "Xiao Red Body" novel style between novels, essays and poems, which are remembered by all the men who have experienced or seen her. As a female writer, although the vicissitudes are, they are precious and eternal.
The third is the real life reflection after watching the movie. Although the mood of the film is a little heavy after watching, it is not as relaxed and joyful as some promotional films. But that's the real side of life, and it's the one we can't escape. People always have to suffer some suffering in their lives, just as it is said in Buddhism that people are born to suffer. Knowing this, when we face setbacks, we will be calm and calm; when we face happiness, we will cherish and be grateful.
