Plateau cedars covered with wooden tassels

Yesterday sent a "cuckoo drunk fish" of Bida Sea, which got the praise of some netizens, and today sent a diary, recording the scene of the plateau pasture in Zhongdian (now called Shangri-La) in the 1970s, I don't know if it is still like this 50 years later.

Wang Duanyang's diary

October 23, 1974

When you arrive at the Zhongdian Plateau, it is a completely different scenery: first of all, I feel that the autumn wind is depressed, the plateau is golden, it looks very desolate, the crops have been harvested, the pasture grass is yellow, and it is full of groups of yaks, calves and sheep. The mountains are covered with broken rice azaleas, and you can imagine that when spring comes, it is really full of rhododendrons, which is so beautiful! Minister Feng said that he did not dare to leave on horseback.

On the yellow prairie, there was another kind of thorn tree, all of which were red leaves, perhaps flowers, red, not clearly seen, piece by piece, like a bonfire lit on a meadow. The sky is also particularly clear, surrounded by light blue, and in the middle it becomes dark blue, like the sea slowly deepening.

The highland pasture in Zhongdian unfortunately did not have color film at that time.

Arriving in Zhongdian at three o'clock in the afternoon, it can be seen that the county seat is still under construction. We lived in the sub-district, and after that, the deputy political commissar accompanied us to see the prayer hall where He Long once lived, which was now about to collapse. I also looked at the Tibetan little girl carrying water, the bucket is standing, the water will not spill out, this is a bit technical.

Zhongdian is 3,300 meters above sea level, there is no strange feeling, that is, just got out of the car, felt the sun glare, can not open. The plateau is strong in ultraviolet rays.

There are two seas in Zhongdian, and it is said that it is the two eyes of a fairy, who is not blind after death, and what flows from the sea is her tears.

Zhongdian was dry and bald, and there were few decent trees. The air was also dry and the lips were chapped.

Tibetans are very strong, very tall, some wear red corduroy tops, studded with gold edges, buy wine, put bottles into the waist and go, very characteristic.

Tibetans hang barley and barley on wooden shelves to dry, which is very characteristic of pastoral areas.

In the evening, Deputy Political Commissar Zhang (Tibetan) specially gave us butter tea, which was still very good, with sesame seeds and walnut kernels. They talk about eating for the first time, eating is not habitual, and they have to vomit. But I was able to eat it, and I drank two bowls in a row, and I also ate rice dumplings. It is not okay to come to Zhongdian without eating this.
