However, what people did not expect was that Chiang Kai-shek suddenly ordered the surging to be killed, resulting in the failure of the rescue operation.

In those days, it was not easy for ordinary people to eat enough, but every household would let Peng Shilu eat enough, and sometimes even let their children go hungry. Whenever he thinks back on this time, Peng Shilu always feels a lot of emotions, which is the first time he has experienced the simplicity and kindness of the Chinese people.
Unfortunately, happy times are always short-lived. I don't know why, the news that Peng Shilu was hiding in the tenant farmer's house leaked the wind.
On July 15, 1933, the day of the lunar calendar, which happened to be ghost day, the Kuomintang reactionaries surrounded Peng Shilu's hiding place, and Peng Shilu was arrested and imprisoned.
Peng Shilu was taken to Chao'an Prison when he was only 8 years old. Because of his young age and fear of not being able to take care of himself, the Kuomintang reactionaries put Peng Shilu in a women's cell and let the female prisoners take care of Him Shilu.
Peng Shilu met the familiar sharecroppers in the women's cell, but in order to keep it secret and fear of getting involved with each other, they nodded and smiled at each other, knowing each other's existence.
Due to his young age, the prisoners in the women's cell took good care of Peng Shilu. Looking at Peng Shilu's tattered clothes, the crowd pooled their money to buy two pieces of cloth, one was a red plaid cloth and the other was a blue plaid cloth.
A clever Red Army sister used these two pieces of cloth to make Peng Shilu a new set of clothes—a blue pants and a red top. This was the first time since his parents' sacrifice that Peng Shilu had new clothes.
Peng Shilu spent several months in the women's cell when a Kuomintang reactionary officer came and took him away alone. This is not a good thing, according to Peng Shilu's experience of living in prison for several months, being taken away alone is to be shot.
This was something Peng Shilu wanted more, and the reactionary officers took him away, but they did not want to shoot him. After Peng Shilu was arrested, the Kuomintang reactionaries were very happy about the capture of the surging son, and even published newspapers to celebrate.
However, Peng Shilu is only 8 years old, so what is the matter with sending a child to prison? At that time, public opinion was condemning the shameless behavior of the reactionaries. Under the pressure of public opinion, the reactionaries could only send Peng Shilu from prison to the so-called "correctional hospital."
It is said that it is a correctional institution, but in fact, life here is similar to that of a prison, and even worse for Peng Shilu. Because here, no one will take care of Peng Shilu because of his young age, and Peng Shilu even almost died because of it.
According to Peng Shilu's later recollections, he said that when he was in the penitentiary, he did not know what kind of illness he had, and his whole body was paralyzed and could not stand up, but he could only crawl and walk, even if he went to the toilet. At that time, no doctor came to see him, and he was very worried about dying like this, but fortunately he survived in the back.
After being "reformed" for a year, seeing that peng Shilu could not find any crime on him, coupled with the pressure of public opinion, the Kuomintang reactionaries could only send Peng Shilu out of the penitentiary.
But as a 9-year-old, how does Peng Shilu have the ability to support himself? Peng Shilu, who came out of the penitentiary, could only make a living by begging along the street.
Fortunately, the former sharecroppers were very excited to learn about Peng Shilu's situation, thinking that they could not let the descendants of the heroes beg for a living. They took Peng Shilu over and decided that they would continue to raise Peng Shilu.
Yet the shamelessness of the reactionaries is far greater than anyone could have imagined. In the summer of 1936, the reactionaries once again found where Peng Shilu lived and sent Peng Shilu, who was only 11 years old at the time, to prison again.

As the son of a hero, Peng Shilu's father, Peng Shilu, was once the leader of the peasant movement. Fortunately, the organization received the news of Peng Shilu's disappearance in time and immediately sent someone to inquire about Peng Shilu's whereabouts. After learning that Peng Shilu was in the Dongjiang Column, the organization immediately sent someone to take Peng Shilu back to Hong Kong and tell him: I know you want revenge, but your task now is to learn. If you don't have the ability, how can you take revenge?
Listening to the persuasion of the personnel sent by the organization, Peng Shilu slowly put down the idea of joining the guerrillas and decided to study cultural knowledge well.

During his time in Yan'an, Peng Shilu found himself very interested in scientific research and very talented, so he continued to study in this area. Later, with the help of the organization, Peng Shilu went to the Moscow Institute of Chemical Machinery in the Soviet Union to study, and successfully graduated.
After returning to China after completing his studies, Peng Shilu was arranged to work at the Beijing Atomic Energy Research Institute. At that time, the country already had the intention of developing nuclear submarines, and did not want to be blackmailed by the great powers again.
However, China has been experiencing war and chaos for many years, and its scientific research strength is almost nothing, there is no talent in nuclear submarines, and there is no relevant information. Especially after the Soviet Union withdrew all the experts aiding China, the field of Nuclear Submarines in China was basically blank. Under such conditions, wanting to study nuclear submarines is tantamount to a fool's dream.
