We didn't die a second ago
We strive to do party work here
Propaganda to soldiers, propaganda to the masses in prison
This was martyr Peng Pan before he was inaugurated
The last letter to Zhou Enlai
The struggle in prison was reported
Let the party organization stop the rescue
……
In order to commemorate the righteousness of Peng Pan and others, Zhou Enlai wrote a commemorative article in the "Red Flag Daily", "more painfully and resolutely continuing the legacy of the martyrs, stepping on the blood of the martyrs, and always working hard and fighting forward"...
Heroic cities give birth to heroes, and heroic spirit inspires future generations. Here, the light of the spirit breaks through the darkness, and the peach blossoms blow away the dark clouds and lightning... Let's walk into the Longhua Martyrs Cemetery and listen to the stories of Longhua's heroic martyrs.

In Longhua Prison, where life and death are uncertain, the prison guards quietly sent three letters written in code language, which were sent to the Party Central Committee many times. The letter reads: "I can't save my life by waiting for this white victim. Brothers, don't be sad because of your brother's sacrifice. Hope to take care of your body! The three letters reported on the situation in prison and said that they would never be afraid of sacrifice for the cause of the party.
The two people who wrote this secret rescue letter were Peng Pan, a member of the Central Military Council, and Yang Yin, the director of the Central Military Department. Also arrested at the same time were Yan Changyi, a member of the Central Military Commission of the CPC Central Committee, and Xing Shizhen, a cadre of the Jiangsu Provincial Military Commission.
On August 24, 1929, the Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China, which had been transferred to a secret struggle, was surrounded by the Kuomintang military police when it held a military work conference, and the four leaders of the Central Military Commission attending the meeting were arrested and imprisoned at the Songhu Police Headquarters.
In the harsh environment, the four revolutionaries were tortured, but they kept the party's secrets strictly. Chiang Kai-shek urgently issued a secret order to "summarily execute on the spot." Just a week later, four people were shot dead in Longhua.
