Because of a business trip, I wrote this article all the way from Guangzhou to Beijing.

I just watched a spy movie on the plane that was a phenomenon at that time, and I have been reminiscing. I don't know why, in the era of peace, I don't like to watch the films and televisions of small fresh meat in the Taiping Dynasty, but I only have a special love for war movies of fighting, killing and killing, especially the plot of our party's underground traffic officers and the enemy fighting wits and courage on the invisible battlefield. (It seems that I accidentally exposed my age)

In special times, information transmission is not as developed as it is today, and whoever has more information will hold a greater chance of victory. In movies and television, it is often seen that intelligence personnel write "wordless" information on white paper, and after the other party receives it, it is roasted on the fire, and the intelligence content is immediately revealed.

Such a scene is almost standard in spy movies.

I have written a public account for more than three years and filmed more than 400 experimental videos. However, we have been involved in less experiments on this genre in spy movies, and we have tried it once before with white rice vinegar, which is somewhat similar to the scene in the movie.

White rice vinegar can be successful, but it is an entry level at best. Let's take a higher-level play today: write with lemon juice and eyeshadow.

Yes, you read that right, it is:

Lemon, lemon, juice + eyes, shadows, writing !!!

Just looking at this ingredient, I feel an inexplicable sense of high-grade, what kind of spark will be encountered between the two? I quickly made up my head.

The style of painting is roughly like this:

It seems, that's what it looks like; it should be, it's what it looks like. However, I actually mixed lemon juice and eyeshadow together to write perhaps the most romantic "love letter" in the world.

Purpose of the experiment

Recognize the principle of lemon juice writing invisibility.

Materials required for the experiment

Igniter, eyeshadow, brush, teaspoon

White paper, candles, fresh lemons

Experimental procedure

1. Cut the lemon in half, squeeze out the fresh lemon juice and serve in a teaspoon.

2. Write with a brush dipped in lemon juice on plain A4 paper and dry the paper.

3. Place the dried "wordless" white paper above the candle fire and bake slowly (pay attention to the heat, the fire can not be large or small, and it should not be too close. Be sure to be careful with candles)

4. In order to make the handwriting look better, add eyeshadow to the lemon juice, write again, and bake again.

Phenomenon and principle analysis

Through the above experiments, we found that the handwriting written in lemon juice has become invisible after drying on the paper, and the handwriting is reproduced after baking on a low fire above the candle fire. The addition of eyeshadow makes the handwriting more shiny.

Without eyeshadow it goes something like this:

Added eyeshadow is like this:

Why is this happening? This has to start with the characteristics of lemons.

Lemon is a common fruit and is also a medicinal herb. We all know that lemons are rich in vitamin C, but there is also an ingredient called cellulofol in lemons that is little known. Writing on paper with lemon juice, cellulophen lowers the ignition point of the paper, and when the paper is heated by candle flames, the place covered by lemon juice is first scorched (i.e., carbonized), thus showing a brownish yellow color. When you add eyeshadow, the handwriting appears shiny and cool.

In fact, in addition to lemons, other substances that can be used as invisible ink include orange juice, grape juice, onion juice, vinegar and wine. It is also worth mentioning milk, which can also be used to generate invisible information, because milk is slow to heat and therefore turns brown when heated. Give it a try!

Couples in love, can you also try to use these substances to write a romantic love letter that only you two can understand?

The Mid-Autumn Festival is coming in the blink of an eye, electronic communication technology is developed today, it is rare for me to take a pen to write a word, write a sentence of Mid-Autumn Festival, reunion, and circle with a pen, and send it to all the little friends, the word is very ugly, the love is very true:

Congratulations in advance to everyone on the two reunions.

I am very happy to write this small experiment in a hotel room with a network speed comparable to a snail, and before the end, I can't help but nag that this experiment uses an open flame, and we must ensure the safety of the fire.

I've got to forage for food, we'll see you next time.

Review of past exciting experiments:

In the magic science experiment, Newton only said that the apple would fall down, but did not say that it would go up

Magic science small experiment, copper pipe close to the flame, did not expect such a result, what happened?
