At the age of 19, Lu Deming saw the enrollment information of the Whampoa Military Academy from the newspaper and decided to go to Guangzhou to register, and the father always hoped that his son could enter the career path, and Lu Deming could only persuade him bitterly.
Finally, his father could not resist Lu Deming and agreed to let him go to Guangzhou to register. Lu Deming rushed to Guangzhou, and did not dare to delay one day on the road, or did not catch the entrance examination.
Lu Deming was not reconciled, and found his fellow villager Li Xiaoting and asked him to help him find a way. Li Xiaoting saw that the young man was eager to study, so he wrote a letter of recommendation to Sun Yat-sen, explaining the original committee, hoping to be able to admit Lu Deming.

Lu Deming gave up his small family for everyone, and he wrote in his letter to his family, "I don't miss my family, in fact, I miss my parents, brothers, sisters-in-law and nephews. In my dreams, I used to whisper, calling out (nephews) Quan Yi and Shao Nan. ”
