The competition specially invited Zhang Guiguo, an expert in youth research and former director of the Higher Education Research and Evaluation Center of Jinan University, Chen Yingxi, director of the Moral Education and Psychological Education Research Office of the Municipal Institute of Education, Zu Qing, a language arts performer, Ma Xiaoyan, an expert in debate speeches, and Liu Shuqian, the general consultant and chairman of the jury of the competition and a well-known moral education and etiquette expert, to form the final jury expert group.
Speculative youth, strong and agitated. The debate competition was launched at the end of March and lasted for two months, covering 26 middle schools in the district. All schools actively prepared and enthusiastically participated, organized debater auditions and training, and formed a total of 34 debate teams according to junior high and high school stages, and carried out wonderful debates on topics such as love for the motherland, national unity, national security, and youth responsibility.
After 4 rounds of fierce competition in junior high school and 3 rounds of high school, a total of 30 events were carried out, and 2 teams from junior high school and high school entered the finals.
At the finals, the high school group and the junior high school group respectively focused on the debate topics "Is it better to look up or overlook" and "Perfect youth does not leave regrets or perfect youth should leave regrets".
The debaters on both sides went toe-to-toe with witty remarks, which won bursts of applause from the audience. The debaters skillfully linked ancient and modern examples to argue their own views, and the audience was amazed by the breadth of knowledge and the agility of their responses. The judges spoke highly of the debaters' performance.
In the end, Guangzhou No. 16 Middle School won the double championship of the junior high school group and high school group of this debate competition, Guangzhou Overseas Chinese Foreign Chinese School won the runner-up of the junior high school group, Guangzhou Dongfeng Experimental School and Guangzhou Yuexiu District Mingde Experimental School won the third place of the junior high school group, Guangzhou No. 7 Middle School won the second place of the high school group, and Guangzhou No. 3 Middle School won the third place of the high school group.
With the theme of "Thinking about Youth and Strengthening the Country", this debate competition solicited debate topics from all schools in the district, and selected debate topics related to the healthy growth and value orientation of teenagers, such as "the establishment of ideals is based on personal will or social needs", "patriotism is important in the heart or action", "setbacks are conducive to or not conducive to the growth of young people", so that students can have multi-dimensional thinking about today's hot topics through debate, ignite the enthusiasm of Yuexiu youth to "promote thinking with debate and learning with thinking", and stimulate the exchange of ideas with equal emphasis on height and depth. Through the activities, we will help Yuexiu young students cultivate their feelings for their family and country, practice their responsibilities, and gather youth wisdom and strength for the high-quality development of Yuexiu education.
This year, in conjunction with the "Patriotism Education Law of the People's Republic of China" and the opportunity to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, Yuexiu District organized and carried out various activities with rich content around the theme of "inheriting the national spirit and cultivating patriotism", such as: the Times Pioneer Poster Design Competition, a monthly national heroic deeds publicity meeting, and an inter-school debate competition for middle school students held today, constantly enriching the content of the "Yuexiu Great Ideological and Political Course" and leading the majority of young students to strengthen their cultural self-confidence. Inherit and carry forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture, uphold integrity and innovation, and promote the connotative development of Yuexiu's ideological and political course construction.
This year, 9 schools (units) in Yuexiu District have been identified as schools (units) for the integration of ideology and politics in primary and secondary schools in Guangzhou, and a total of 26 schools have been rated as red education demonstration schools in Guangzhou, forming a good situation of Yuexiu moral education with full education, all-round education, all-round education, and whole-process education.
