The Tang Dynasty Zhang Zhi wrote a poem, which was used by the lover monk Su Manshu, and the last seven words were composed into hand golden sentences

author:The world of poetry

In the history of China, there is no shortage of such amazing and brilliant "love monks" who have spent their lives wandering between the Zen altar and love, and have written many moving works.

Su Manshu, one of the great prodigies of China's modern history, is like this.

He had been ordained as a monk three times, and he was a layman three times, and he wanted to devote himself to Buddhism, but he could not let go of human love.

The Tang Dynasty Zhang Zhi wrote a poem, which was used by the lover monk Su Manshu, and the last seven words were composed into hand golden sentences

It is said that he wrote ten poems of the "Benshi Poem" for his beloved kabuki Hyakusuke, one of which reads:

Usher Lingbo's muscles are like snow, and he holds the red leaf sophistry inscription.

He also wept mercilessly, hating not meeting without shaving.

Sentient tears can only be ruthlessly explained, hating only that our meeting came too late, saying that the helplessness and sorrow of the world's foolish children who cannot stay together are exhausted.

The phrase "hate does not meet and do not shave" is actually a use of the Tang Dynasty poet Zhang's "When the Festival Woman Yin" "Hate not meeting and not marrying", the whole poem is as follows:

Junzhi concubines have husbands, and give concubines double pearls.

The sense of the king is lingering, tied in a red robe.

The concubines' high-rise buildings are even raised, and the good people hold the Mingguang Li.

Zhijun's heart is like the sun and the moon, and the husband vows to live and die together.

Jun Mingzhu wept bitterly, hating not meeting and not marrying.

The poem adopts the Beeching technique throughout, ostensibly writing about the entanglement between the love of men and women, but in essence it is a political lyric poem.

The author of the poem, Zhang Yuan, was a disciple of Han Yu. At that time, the division of feudal towns became a major problem in the Middle and Tang Dynasties.

Li Shidao, who was then one of the towns in the clan, Pinglu Ziqing Jiedushi, took a fancy to Zhang Yuan's talent and deliberately co-opted him. Unmoved, Zhang Zhi wrote this poem "Festival of Women's Songs" to show his firm position of safeguarding national unity.

Interestingly, this attitude of rejection was expressed through the mouth of a wife who was loyal to her husband. It is told in a woman's tone.

"Junzhi concubines have husbands, and give concubines double pearls." The sense of the king is lingering, tied in a red robe. ”

The woman said to the man who pursued her: You know that I already have a husband, and you still want to give me a pair of pearls. Implicit condemnation is implied in the discourse.

The next verse turns, although I know that your behavior is not in accordance with etiquette, I am still very grateful for your lingering friendship and tie the pearl to my red robe.

Writing this, the woman's attitude seems to be inclined to this man who pursues her. In fact, it is not, the "Yang" in the front is exactly for the "suppression" in the back.

"The concubines' high-rise buildings are even raised, and the good people hold the Bright Light." Zhijun's heart is like the sun and the moon, and the husband vows to live and die together. ”

Next, the woman said to the man:

My family's tall buildings are connected to the royal garden, and my husband is on duty in the palace with a long halberd. I know that you treat me with sincerity and sincerity, but I have already made a vow that I will live and die with my husband in this life, and never give up.

"Returning jun mingzhu's tears, hating not meeting and not marrying."

The last two sentences end with affection, and when I return your pearl, my eyes ripple with tears, and I hate that I didn't meet you before I married.

Even if the man has a deep affection for the woman, the woman still keeps her virginity after all.

In this poem, Zhang Zhi compares himself to a "concubine" and Li Shidao to a "jun", and in a subtle and euphemistic way, he rejects Li Shidao's solicitation.

"Pearl" refers to the glory and fame and wealth that ordinary people cannot seek, and is Li Shidao's means of co-opting the literati. "Liangren" refers to the Tang Dynasty.

But the poet said, no matter how precious and dazzling the pearl you sent me, as a scholar and doctor of the Tang Dynasty, I always have to share the hardships with the country and safeguard the unity of the country.

This ingenious bixing technique finally showed the poet's attitude, but also did not offend the hot high-ranking officials of the clan town and provoke himself to kill himself.

At the same time, from the poetry level, using the love affairs of men and women to metaphorically express ambition, not only continuing the tradition of "vanilla beauty" in "Leaving the Troubles", but also making the whole poem euphemistic and tortuous, not a moving one.

And the famous phrase "hate when you don't meet and don't marry" has changed its original meaning more than a thousand years later, and it has become a golden sentence for men and women to break up in the world.

Love is the eternal proposition of human beings.

"Ask the world, what is the love, the orthodox religion of life and death", there are many lovers in the world, but not every pair can be compared to the eyes and eventually become dependents.

More than that, it is love that is separated, long-term resentment, can not be sought, can not be put down.

As Xi Murong wrote in a small poem called "The Heart of the Lotus":

After the fragrant smile

Who knows my lotus heart

You who have no chance

Not too early

It's just too late
