Zheng Xiaoying Biography ❂
Born in Shanghai in 1929, she was the first female conductor and educator of opera and symphony in New China. In the 1960s, he studied at the Moscow State Conservatory of music in the USSR, where he served as chief conductor of the Central Opera House and head of the conducting department of the Central Conservatory of Music.
History is a textbook, and Mao Zedong's poems such as "Seven Laws • Long March", "Remembrance of Qin'e • Loushan Guan", "Xijiangyue • Jinggangshan" were formed during the battle, which had a great impact on my personal growth. Studying Mao Zedong's poetry can be a good way to review and relive the history of the Party, which requires us to pass it on from generation to generation and not forget our original intention. Therefore, this time I want to start a class in Xiamen, not only to sing the notes correctly, but also to deeply understand the content of the poem, so that I can better understand the history.
——Zheng Xiaoying
From time to time, the audience sent warm applause for Professor Zheng Xiaoying's wonderful sharing. 92 years old, lasted nearly 2 hours of sharing.
In 1952, Zheng Xiaoying joined the party and has 69 years of party experience.
Professor Zheng Xiaoying is the goddess in the eyes of lin hong in the audience, she said: In my opinion, Professor Zheng has a will of steel, and today's sharing fully demonstrates her love for the motherland and loyalty to the party.
Xie Shiyun, Xiamen Five Chinese Language Teacher: Mao Zedong's poetry has entered the masses of the people through art forms, which is a very good opportunity to study party history, which has further deepened the relationship between the party and the people; at the same time, Professor Zheng's sharing has also benefited me a lot and inspired me in teaching.
Tie the knot to the sea
Speaking of Haicang, she said happily: That origin has been a long time, as early as December 30, 1999, the day the Haicang Bridge was opened, we organized the Philharmonic Orchestra to play on the scene to celebrate, that day should be too beautiful lights, egrets flying, even white dolphins are rolling on the sea, the meaning is very auspicious, you see, over the years, Haicang has developed from a small fishing village into a very modern urban area, very remarkable!
In 1998, Zheng Xiaoying founded the Xiamen Philharmonic Orchestra
In 1998, Zheng Xiaoying was invited by the Xiamen Municipal Government to create a professional symphony orchestra in the nature of "private office assistance". Founding China's first private orchestra, which seemed like an "impossible task", people around her kindly advised her to "don't toss", but this "stubborn old lady" persevered.

Won the praise of the world
Also through the symphony, let the world re-understand Xiamen
Zheng Xiaoying said, "Art originates from the people and should be returned to the people", "Yangchun white snow must also be with the people and the people". It is precisely adhering to this original intention and mission, based on such pursuit and persistence, she has left the mark of the times on the conductor's platform again and again, changing the perception of ordinary people for elegant music; on the social stage, decades have been committed to popularizing high art, influencing generation after generation.
Abandoning school to join the army, joining the revolution, and taking the first step on the road of command
Born in Shanghai to an intellectual family, Zheng Xiaoying received a modern education from an early age, began to learn piano at the age of 6, and her talent and studies were outstanding. Her parents wanted her to be an independent woman who could sing and dance and have a ladylike demeanor. In 1947, she graduated from high school, followed her father's wishes, and was admitted to Peking Union Medical College, first studying at Jinling Women's University in Nanjing. Because her parents were very patriotic, Zheng Xiaoying was fascinated by Nie Er's songs from an early age and was influenced by revolutionary ideas. During her university years, under the influence of the Jinling Women's Underground Party, she abandoned her studies to join the army and join the revolution, and went to the Liberated Areas. In the Liberated Areas, he was assigned to the Cultural and Labor Troupe, and with his solid musical foundation, he became the conductor who led everyone to perform revolutionary songs, and waved the first beat of his life.

In addition to conducting, Zheng Xiaoying also sings, dances, plays the piano... Doing street propaganda can do anything. In the crucible of revolution, she established a revolutionary outlook on life. What is a revolutionary outlook on life? Zheng Xiaoying explained in simple words: "Who is your life for? Is it for personal survival, personal fame and fortune, or are you willing to serve the public and share your gains with everyone? ”
In 1951, Zheng Xiaoying served as a drummer during a performance in the Cultural troupe
She took to the international opera stage and became the first female conductor of opera in China
In 1960, Zheng Xiaoying was given the opportunity to go to the Soviet Union to study opera and symphony conducting. In 1961, she conducted the Philharmonic Orchestra of Old Musicians at the Moscow Kremlin Theater, held a concert to celebrate the 12th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, and the following year, she was presented at the Moscow State Musical Theatre to perform the Italian opera "Tosca", thus becoming the first female conductor of opera in China and the first conductor in the Chinese to stand on the international opera stage.
Left: In 1961, with the help of her mentor Anosov, Zheng Xiaoying performed her first symphony concert at the Kremlin Theater. Right: In 1962, Zheng Xiaoying's "Tosca" was successfully staged (from left: Zheng Xiaoying's conductor Anosov, Zhang Xiongfei, counselor of the Chinese Embassy in the Soviet Union, Zheng Xiaoying's opera conductor Barin, Zheng Xiaoying, "Tosca" and "Mario")
When Zheng Xiaoying studied in the Soviet Union, her teacher taught her: "In the concert you conduct, you must have your own national things." She remembered her teacher's teachings that in decades of artistic creation, she not only introduced Western classical music to China, but also brought Chinese works to the world.
Serving the public and "waving the stick" for sowing the seeds of classical music
In 1979, the opera "La Traviata" was rehearsed, and although the audience flocked to it, they could not understand it, and they made a noise under the stage, and the performance hall became a bazaar. Such a scene deeply stung Zheng Xiaoying's heart. Since then, she has made up her mind to popularize high art, explaining the background of the repertoire and the main points of appreciation for the audience before almost every performance, and her performance guide is affectionately known as the "Zheng Xiaoying Model". After the reform and opening up, the entry of popular songs has made the elegant art of the already sunny spring and white snow "worse". Zheng Xiaoying was worried, and together with her friends, she founded the "Philharmonic Girl" orchestra and went deep into colleges and middle schools, factories and mines, and rural areas to perform and display without compensation. The audience thanked her in person: "Teacher Zheng, it is a concert given to us by your 'Philharmonic Girl', and we have changed our life's pursuits." ”
Zheng Xiaoying is not only the leader of high art in China's new era, the enlightener of popular music literacy, but also the most experienced conductor professor in the Chinese music scene. It is her meticulous conducting education that many of her students have become mainstays of today's Chinese music scene.
Zheng Xiaoying believes that
"If there is a harvest in life, my harvest is in the public."
Today, although she is over ninety years old, she still has not changed her original intention.
Continue to coach on the front line
In people's minds
She is not only a "sonorous rose",
It is also an "immortal rose"!
Hats off to Professor Zheng Xiaoying again!
