Recently, an electric bicycle fire broke out at the gate of No. 279-6 East Longitudinal Road, Maluan Street, Pingshan District, Shenzhen. After investigation, it was the thermal runaway of the lithium battery installed on the electric bicycle that caused the fire. When the Pingshan District Fire and Rescue Brigade further investigated the source of the vehicle involved, it was found that the electric bicycle was purchased from the Minxin Electric Vehicle Store in Pingshan District, and the lithium battery illegally installed was purchased by the owner of the car shop at a small stall in Pingshan District.
Recently, the Pingshan District Fire and Rescue Brigade and the Pingshan Supervision Bureau of the Shenzhen Municipal Market Supervision Administration conducted a joint inspection of a small stall in Pingshan District, and found that a large number of finished lithium batteries and waste lead-acid batteries without production dates, quality certificates and unmarked manufacturers were stored in the store in violation of regulations. The joint inspection team inspects the lithium battery on site and asks the person in charge of the site about the source of the product.
In the face of several inquiries from the Joint Inspection Unit, the person in charge of the site was hesitant and could not clearly explain the origin of the product. According to the "Product Quality Law of the People's Republic of China", the joint inspection team sealed and seized the "three nos" batteries suspected of being sold at the scene, pending further verification and processing.
The Pingshan District Fire and Rescue Brigade hereby reminds the general public that when buying electric bicycles and batteries through formal channels, they must not be greedy for cheap and buy "three no" products. The parking and charging of electric bicycles should be in an outdoor charging place (charging pile or charging cabinet), and it is strictly forbidden to park in the public area of the building or charge through the "flying wire" method of private wires. The battery should be avoided "overdue service", and when it is found that the battery mileage has decreased significantly, the regular battery with high safety should be replaced in time, and it must not be "sick" to save money.
