Case 1
On March 14, 2023, an electric bicycle caught fire in a small community in Haikou City, Hainan Province, killing two people. After the fire broke out, two tenants blindly escaped from rooms 202 and 206 on the second floor to the first floor, and due to inhaling high temperature toxic smoke, two people suffocated and fell to the end of the corridor on the first floor, unfortunately died.

Case 2
On December 1, 2022, a fire broke out in a small community in Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, killing five people and injuring three others. When the fire broke out, some residents ventured out of their homes to escape downstairs through stairwells and elevators, inhaling toxic smoke and causing casualties; some residents opened the door to escape but returned to the room due to excessive smoke in the stairwell, and forgot to close the door to block the smoke in panic, resulting in a large amount of smoke pouring into the room through the open door, causing casualties.
