On April 11, the key water conservancy and people's livelihood projects in Zhejiang Province and the key construction projects of the "13th Five-Year Plan" for water conservancy development, Wenzhou has so far had the largest water diversion flow, the longest water conveyance tunnel, the largest investment scale, and the largest water diversion project in the same period.

The Wenzhou Oujiang River Water Diversion Project is the first application of TBM hard rock boring machine technology in the water conservancy industry in Zhejiang Province. The total length of the water transmission line of the project is about 81 kilometers, the main water transmission line of the project is 61.5 kilometers (the tunnel section is 59.1 kilometers long, and the pipeline is 2.4 kilometers long), with a total estimated investment of 5.5 billion yuan and a total construction period of 60 months.

After the completion of the project, the total annual water diversion of the Oujiang River will be 743 million cubic meters, which is of great significance to ensure the safety of drinking water for more than 5 million citizens in Wenzhou urban area, and also has the comprehensive functions of emergency backup water supply in Wenzhou urban area, ecological water replenishment of river network, agricultural irrigation and flood control and drainage, which will meet the medium and long-term water needs of Wenzhou's development.

The "14th Five-Year Plan" flood control project (Jinan section) in the lower reaches of the Yellow River involves 8 districts (counties) of Pingyin, Changqing, Tianqiao, Qiqi, Licheng, Gaoxin, Zhangqiu and Jiyang, and the main construction content is the continuation of 8 control and guidance projects, 11 reconstruction and reinforcement of control and guidance projects, 3 reconstruction and reinforcement of dangerous works, and 6 flood control road construction. In the face of the characteristics of many project points, wide coverage and long front, the Jinan Yellow River Bureau made overall planning and scientific scheduling, which effectively ensured the safety of the project during the flood. During the construction of the project, the construction unit took multiple measures to fully implement the "six mechanisms" for safety production risk management and control, and promoted the progress of the project in a safe and orderly manner. The construction unit continuously optimizes the process and construction method, and escorts the construction safety and quality by using information control methods such as drone cruise and remote command and shouting of electronic equipment.

At the same time, in the future, Guangdong will also focus on promoting the planning and construction of the second phase of the Guangdong Ring Project, helping to create a unique tropical style of the green and beautiful Leizhou Peninsula, and strive to solve the problem of water shortage that plagues the Leizhou Peninsula.

The North Guangdong Ring Project is a backbone project of the national water network, and a major water conservancy and livelihood project planned and constructed by the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government to support the sustainable economic and social development of Zhanjiang, Maoming, Yangjiang, Yunfu and other cities in western Guangdong in the future. The main project of the North Guangdong Project will be fully started in April 2023, and the first shield machine will be launched in October 2023, and it is planned to be completed and opened to water in 2030. As of early April, the investment of 5.545 billion yuan has been completed, and all 17 construction targets of the project have been started; 9,525 people have participated in the construction of the whole line, and 4,106 large machinery and equipment have entered the site. There are 12 shield machines each, 3 shield machines have been launched, and a total of 11.59 kilometers of tunnels have been excavated, of which 1.57 kilometers have been excavated in the Xinyi Guizi branch tunnel in Maoming, and 56.79 kilometers have been laid in pipelines.

It is reported that the project is designed to divert water flow of 110 cubic meters per second, with an average water supply of 2.079 billion cubic meters for many years, covering a population of 18 million, which can solve the problem of mismatch between the carrying capacity of water resources in western Guangdong and the layout of economic development in the long run, effectively alleviate the regional water shortage situation, improve the water supply pattern of a single water supply source in urban and rural areas, and provide water sources for irrigation with tropical characteristics.

On April 7, the Yongan Tunnel of the Yuxi Water Resources Allocation Project was completed in its entirety, laying a solid foundation for the early realization of the water supply goal.

Yongan Tunnel is a control node project of Yuxi Water Resources Allocation Project, the tunnel entrance is located in Sansheng Community, Youxi Town, Jiangjin District, and the exit is located in Linjiang Town, Yongchuan District, with a total length of 12,321 meters and a maximum buried depth of 225 meters, mainly supplying water to Yongchuan, Dazu, Rongchang, Tongliang and other districts, benefiting 3.4 million people.

The Yuxi Water Resources Allocation Project is one of the 150 major water conservancy projects identified by the State Council, and it is also a major water diversion project across multiple districts with the largest investment, the most extensive coverage and the largest number of beneficiaries in the history of Chongqing. The project provides water to urban and rural areas and industries in western Chongqing through the water lifting project from the Yangtze River and Jialing River, and realizes the interconnection and mutual adjustment of water from the Yangtze River and the Jialing River. After the completion of the project, the annual water supply will increase by 1.012 billion cubic meters, benefiting nearly 10 million people, which will provide a strong water security guarantee for comprehensively promoting the construction of a modern new Chongqing.
