Announcement of the 2023 Good Article Selection Activity of Chinese Social Sciences

In order to better launch high-quality masterpieces and promote theoretical and academic innovation, China Social Sciences Magazine has carried out three consecutive good articles selection activities of Chinese Social Sciences since 2021, and the selection process and results have been well received by the academic community. According to the selection method, the selection of good articles in 2023 of "Chinese Social Sciences" is now officially launched. The selection program is as follows:

1. Scope of article selection

Articles published in the 1st to 12th issues of Social Sciences in China in 2023.

2. Selection Criteria

1. Adhere to the guidance of Marxism, especially Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, adhere to the party's basic theory, basic line, and basic strategy, deeply understand the decisive significance of the "two establishments", strengthen the "four consciousnesses", strengthen the "four self-confidences", achieve the "two safeguards", and adhere to the correct political direction, academic orientation, and value orientation.

2. Pay attention to major theoretical and practical issues, frontier and hot issues of various disciplines, have strong theoretical innovation and academic insights, or have made original and fundamental progress in a certain research field of a discipline.

3. Abide by academic norms and academic ethics, be logically rigorous, rigorous in argumentation, and lively in style.

3. Selection time

From the date of announcement of the event to 24:00 on May 5, 2024.

Fourth, the selection method

The announcement of this event will be published in "Chinese Social Sciences" (Issue 3 and 4, 2024), "China Social Sciences News", "China Social Science Network" and the WeChat official account of "China School", and the 2023 general title of "China Social Sciences" will be published in "China Social Sciences News", China Social Science Network and the WeChat official account of "China School". Stay tuned!

1. The selection activity is divided into two stages: primary selection and final selection:

(1) Primary selection stage. Each (group) discipline can select up to 2 good articles, which will be recommended by readers' real-name voting, peer expert voting and editorial department, and the weights of the three voting results are 40%, 40% and 20% respectively.

(2) Final selection stage. The top two papers in the primary selection stage of each discipline will enter the final selection stage, from which the expert review committee will select the good articles of each discipline, and no more than one article in each discipline. In line with the principle of preferring shortage to abundance, disciplines that have not selected good articles will be vacant.

2. The good articles selected by the expert review committee will be published through the "Chinese Social Sciences", "China Social Sciences News", China Social Sciences Network and the WeChat public account of "China School" after 5 working days of publicity on the China Social Science Network, and the award ceremony will be held at that time.

3. The Expert Review Committee is composed of members of the editorial board of Social Sciences in China and experts from outside the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

5. Other matters

1. Readers can choose to vote in writing or online. For written voting, please fill in the ballot paper printed on the China Social Sciences Journal and mail it to the China Social Sciences Journal, and for online voting, please scan the QR code below to enter the voting page to vote.

2. This selection activity is purely academic and does not charge any fees.
