May 12, 2024 is the 16th National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Day, in order to further publicize and popularize the knowledge of disaster prevention and reduction, enhance the awareness of disaster risk prevention among the grassroots people, and improve the ability of active disaster prevention, scientific disaster avoidance, and effective disaster reduction. On May 11, the Office of the Fengjie County Disaster Reduction Committee organized more than 10 member units, including the County Emergency Management Bureau, the County Planning and Natural Resources Bureau, the County Water Conservancy Bureau, and the County Forestry Bureau, to carry out a publicity activity with the theme of "Everyone Stresses Safety, Everyone Meets Emergency Response, and Strives to Improve the Ability of Grassroots Disaster Prevention and Risk Avoidance".
The event publicized and popularized the prevention and self-rescue methods of natural disasters such as geology, earthquakes, floods, and fires to the citizens by displaying display boards of disaster prevention and mitigation knowledge, hanging publicity banners, and distributing disaster prevention and mitigation brochures, and answered the questions of disaster prevention and mitigation that citizens were concerned about face-to-face. On the same day, a total of more than 1,500 copies of various disaster prevention and mitigation knowledge brochures and publicity materials were distributed, and more than 800 people were consulted by citizens on the spot.
The event also displayed professional emergency rescue equipment such as drones, earthquake rescue equipment, and water rescue safety protection equipment.
In the next step, Fengjie County will continue to carry out disaster prevention and mitigation propaganda in the form of entering organs, communities, villages, enterprises, schools, and units, so as to improve the awareness and ability of the masses to avoid danger and avoid disasters, self-help and mutual rescue, and effectively create a good atmosphere of "everyone stresses safety, everyone can respond to emergencies, everyone can save themselves, and everyone can escape".
