According to the news on April 7 from the WeChat account of the Eastern Theater, recently, a warship in a certain area of the East China Sea ploughed waves, and the iron wings were spinning, and a landing ship detachment of the Navy of the Eastern Theater joined forces with friendly and neighboring forces to carry out day and night carrier-based helicopter take-off and landing support training under low meteorological conditions——
The purpose of this training is to improve the ability of ships and aircraft to integrate and coordinate and temper the troops' all-weather combat capability under adverse weather conditions.
The carrier-based helicopters participating in the training overcame multiple challenges such as darkness, fog, no obvious reference objects, and complex sea conditions. With their superb skills and tacit cooperation with the tower commander, the pilots completed the landing mission excellently.
During the training sessions on a consecutive day, the temperature difference between day and night was nearly 20 degrees, sometimes foggy, sometimes light rain. Through an efficient communication system between the ship and the helicopter, the accurate execution of tactical actions is ensured, and the flexible maneuvering and adjustment of the speed and course direction provide good take-off and landing conditions for the pilots.
The aviation support department also showed good professionalism, and the systems were powered on full-time, and zero failures and errors were achieved in the flight support that lasted for several days.
