According to reports from the global network, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fiko was shot after attending a meeting on the 15th local time, when he was walking towards the crowd on the street, but the murderer directly pulled out a gun and opened fire, shooting several shots at him in a row. Witnesses at the scene said they heard "three or four gunshots" and then the police rushed up to subdue the attackers.
Fico suffered injuries to both the chest and abdomen, and he fell to the ground at the scene of the shooting, where bodyguards quickly lifted him into the back seat of a black limousine, where he was transferred by helicopter to Banska Bistrica and where he was given emergency treatment at Handlova Hospital. Originally, it was planned to be sent to the capital Bratislava, but because the distance was too far, the distance of 150 kilometers could not ensure timely rescue, and Fico, who was "dying", could only receive treatment nearby.
In fact, Fico is a "thorn in the side" of the United States and the West, mainly because he advocates improving relations with Russia. On the Ukrainian issue, Fiko's attitude is completely different from that of most Western allies, and he does not support the provision of military aid to Ukraine, which has led to Ukrainian disagreements with Slovakia.
Therefore, whether there is any reason behind the occurrence of this attack, I am afraid that an investigation is needed to restore the truth. In any case, such an incident should not have happened. After Fico's assassination, European countries also expressed their wishes to him and condemned the shooting.
