Summary:

Domestically, yesterday, Guangdong, Hainan and other places had strong rainfall, and Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia and other places had windy and dusty weather. In the next three days, there will be heavy rainfall in parts of Guizhou, Yunnan, Guangxi, Hainan and other places, and pay attention to flash floods, geological disasters and urban and rural waterlogging that may be caused by local heavy rainfall; In addition, the northwest region pays attention to the impact of windy and dusty weather on human health and transportation.

Globally, in the past 24 hours, heavy precipitation has occurred in Australia and other places in the Indochina Peninsula, and high temperatures have continued in the Indian Peninsula and the Arabian Peninsula. It is expected that in the next 3 days, the Indian Peninsula and other places will continue to have high temperatures, and there will be significant rain and snow in northern Russia.

Yesterday, there was heavy rainfall in Guangdong, Hainan and other places, and strong winds and dust appeared in Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia and other places

From 8 o'clock yesterday to 6 o'clock today, heavy rain or torrential rain occurred in parts of western Guangdong, central and eastern Hainan Island, southern Yunnan and other places, and local heavy rain (100~162 mm) in Zhanjiang, Hainan, Wenchang and Qiongzhong, the maximum hourly rainfall in the above areas was 30~70 mm, and 75~90 mm in Lingao and Wenchang in Hainan. In addition, gusts of 7~9 occurred in some areas of eastern and southern Xinjiang, western Gansu, central and western Inner Mongolia, and 10~11 locally; In some areas of southern Xinjiang and central and western Inner Mongolia, there were blowing sand or floating dust weather, and local sandstorms or strong sandstorms occurred in Hotan and Bayingolin in Xinjiang and Alxa in Inner Mongolia.

It is expected that on the 14th and 15th, affected by the southward and westward movement of the strong cold air on the east road, most of Inner Mongolia, northeast, north China, Huanghuai, northwest, Xinjiang and other regions have 4-6 northerly winds and gusts of 7-9, the temperature will drop by 4-8 °C, and the local cooling in the central and western parts of Inner Mongolia can reach more than 10 °C. There are local sandstorms or strong sandstorms in the western part of Inner Mongolia, with gusts of wind reaching more than 10 (see Figure 1). For this reason, the Central Meteorological Observatory continued to issue a blue warning for sandstorms at 06:00 on May 14 (see Figure 2). In addition, under the influence of cold air, on the 14th, there were local thundershowers in southern Hebei and northern Shandong, and thunderstorms were accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds of about level 8.

It is expected that in the next three days, there will be more rainy weather in southwest China and western South China. From the 14th to the 15th, there were moderate to heavy rains in eastern and southern Yunnan, western Guizhou, western Guangxi, Hainan and other places, of which there were heavy rains or heavy rains in eastern Yunnan, southwestern Guizhou, western Guangxi, and southeastern Hainan. Some of the above areas are accompanied by short-term heavy precipitation (the maximum hourly rainfall is 20~50 mm, and can exceed 60 mm locally), and there are strong convective weather such as thunderstorms and strong winds locally.

In the past 24 hours, light to moderate snow or sleet has occurred in eastern Eastern Europe, northern Western Siberia, southeastern Central Siberia, and the Far East, with localized heavy snowfall; Light to moderate rain with localized heavy or torrential rain occurred in parts of southern Western Europe, southern Eastern Europe, eastern Southern Europe, the Pamir Plateau, northern Iranian Plateau, Bangladesh, southern Indian Peninsula, Southeast Asian islands, eastern and southern United States, northwestern South America, and the Plain of La Plata.

(2) Continued high temperature weather in the Indian Peninsula and the Arabian Peninsula

In the past 24 hours, some areas of the Mesopotamian Plain, the Arabian Peninsula, the Indian Peninsula, the Gangetic Plain, the Indochina Peninsula, the central part of West Africa, the northwest of Central Africa, Mexico, and the northern part of the Brazilian Altiplano continued to have high temperatures above 37 °C, and the local maximum temperature exceeded 42 °C.

2. Key weather forecasts

(1) Persistent high temperatures in places such as the Indian Peninsula

In the next three days, the high temperature weather in the Indian Peninsula, the Arabian Peninsula, the western part of the Indochina Peninsula and other places will continue, and the daily maximum temperature in some areas can reach 37~40 °C, and it can exceed 42 °C locally.

(2) There is significant rain and snow in the north of Russia

In the next three days, there will be light to moderate snow (rain) or sleet in parts of northern Western Siberia, northern Central Siberia, the Far East, etc., and locally heavy to heavy snow.

From 08:00 on May 14 to 08:00 on the 15th, there were moderate to heavy rains in parts of southern Sichuan, western Guizhou, eastern Yunnan, northwest Guangxi, Hainan Island and other places, among them, heavy rain or heavy rain (100~150 mm) in parts of southwest Guizhou and southeast Hainan Island. Most of Inner Mongolia, North China, the central and western parts of Northeast China, Huanghuai and other places have 4~6 winds, among them, some areas of central and western Inner Mongolia and eastern Xinjiang have 6~8 winds. Some areas in the central and western parts of Inner Mongolia, northern Gansu, and the southern Xinjiang basin of Xinjiang have floating dust or blowing sand, and there are local sandstorms or strong sandstorms (see Figure 3).

From 08:00 on May 16 to 08:00 on the 17th, there was light to moderate rain in parts of northern Xinjiang, most of Tibet, most of Qinghai, most of southwest China, western and northern Guangxi, Hainan Island and other places, among them, there was heavy rain (25~45 mm) in parts of southeastern Tibet, central and northern Guizhou, and eastern Yunnan. Some areas in the eastern part of northern Xinjiang have winds of level 5~6 (see Figure 5).
