Yesterday, some areas in western Inner Mongolia, Guanzhong and eastern Shaanxi, central and southwestern Shanxi, Henan, northwest Hubei and southern Xinjiang Basin appeared 35~38 °C high temperature weather, and Turpan, Xinjiang was 39~43 °C. It is expected that today and tomorrow, the high temperature weather in the above areas will continue, the daily maximum temperature is 35~37 °C, the public should pay attention to heatstroke and sun protection when going out, and the elderly, children and people with weak physique should try to avoid outdoor activities in the afternoon.
From today, there will be a heavy rainfall process from west to east from the eastern part of the southwest region to the southern part of the country. There were heavy rainstorms in parts of the eastern and southern coasts of Guangxi, the central and western parts of Guangdong, and the southern coasts, and localized extremely heavy rains.
The Central Meteorological Observatory continues to issue a blue warning for heavy rain this morning. It is expected that from 08:00 on May 18 to 08:00 on the 19th, there will be heavy to heavy rain in parts of southwest Guizhou, Guangxi, western and southern coastal areas of Guangdong, and northern Hainan Island, among them, there will be heavy rain (100~120 mm) in southeast Guangxi and other places; Some of the above areas are accompanied by short-term heavy precipitation, with the maximum hourly rainfall of 20~50 mm, which can exceed 60 mm locally, and there are strong convective weather such as thunderstorms and strong winds locally.
Meteorological experts reminded that the current round of rainfall coincides with the weekend, and the public in the rainfall area should pay attention to carrying rain gear and avoiding the rain when going out, so as to prevent disasters such as flash floods, geological disasters, urban and rural waterlogging and strong convective weather hazards that may be caused by heavy rainfall.
