The poem "Ge Yan" reveals the submissive relationship between the vicious hostess and the working maid, and portrays a vivid image of them as a mean and indifferent, a poor worker. "Preface to Mao's Poems" said: ""Ge Yan", thorn... Its people are clever and profit-seeking, and its gentlemen are thrifty and anxious, and they have no virtue to do it. ”
I agree with him that the poem is about the inequality of a sewing maid who works day and night in her master's house. The hostess is like the landlord's wife before liberation, high up, industrious, abusive and vicious. The female servants were humble and miserable, lacking food and clothing, working day and night, and facing the landlord's wife's pig face and black face. In my opinion, although the poem "Ge Yan" is only written about the meanness of the hostess "Wei is Xinfu", and the situation of the maid's straw sandals "walking on the frost".
