On the "question wall" of Xinghu School in Liangjiang New Area, questions from more than 3,000 students from the whole school are hung in the corridor, and all the hot questions on it will be answered by students through their own practice in the Juvenile Academy of Sciences.
On April 22, the "One Academy, Two Lists" project of Xinghu School in Chongqing Liangjiang New Area was officially launched, "One Academy" refers to the "Juvenile Academy of Sciences", and "Two Lists" refers to the "Problem List" and "Science and Technology Invention List".
It is understood that the purpose of the scientific problem list is to create a scientific atmosphere in the school, encourage children to think positively, and promote the attention and support of teachers and parents to science education in the whole school through a series of activities such as playing and winning the list;
Zhang Xianbin, principal of Xinghu School, said that the Problem List and the Small Invention List help children realize the scientific inquiry process of "asking-exploring-knowing-acting" from question mark to exclamation mark, from questioning to practice, stimulate students' interest in science and technology, and promote children's comprehensive and individual development. The best students will be selected to enter the Juvenile Academy of Sciences, and the school will design some scientific literacy training courses for them to help them grow.
At the launching ceremony, the Chongqing Science and Technology Museum and the Chongqing Municipal People's Hospital were awarded plaques to become the co-construction units of the "Practice Base of the Juvenile Academy of Sciences", and six primary school students including Li Xuhang became the first batch of "junior academicians" of the Juvenile Academy of Sciences.
"After studying at the Junior Academy of Sciences, I feel that I still have a lot to learn. Li Qianzhai, a fourth-grade student in class 7, said in an interview that after studying, he deeply realized the importance of teamwork, and close cooperation can overcome many difficulties in the research process, and he is very interested in the science of chemical reactions, and hopes to improve himself in the study of the juvenile academy in the future, and contribute to the mainland's national defense when he grows up.
In February this year, two schools in Liangjiang New Area were rated as National Science Experimental Schools, one of which was Xinghu School. Yang Li, director of the Education Management Center of Liangjiang New Area, said that Liangjiang New Area has always attached great importance to science education, taking teachers and students as the starting point, on the one hand, to build a platform for science teachers to display and communicate, improve the teaching ability and scientific research ability of science teachers, and on the other hand, to build a platform for students to collaborate on education, and improve students' scientific literacy. It not only fully mobilizes the power of the government, schools, families and society and other educational subjects, but also continuously enriches the after-school service projects of students, and creates an atmosphere of learning, loving and using science by carrying out activities that students like such as youth science and technology innovation competitions, artificial intelligence robot competitions, campus science and technology festivals, and scientists entering the campus, so as to promote the improvement of children's scientific literacy. Last year alone, more than 8,000 students from Liangjiang New Area participated in science and technology competitions at all levels, and the number of winners reached 800.
