Horqin National Nature Reserve attaches great importance to ecological and environmental protection, and actively carries out wetland ecological restoration, providing abundant conditions for migratory birds to inhabit and reproduce. In 2023, a total of 65 species and 190277 birds were monitored in the reserve, 9.5 times the number five years ago, including 284 Oriental White Stork, a national first-class protected animal, marking a significant improvement in the environmental quality and increasing species diversity in the reserve.

During the migratory bird season, the Protected Area Administration will increase publicity and management efforts, increase the frequency of patrols, and assign special personnel to take care of key areas and key bird migration areas to provide safety guarantees for birds to stay and replenish.
