The developer used ChatGPT to "date" more than 5,000 women and successfully found a fiancée
IT Home reported on January 31 that Aleksandr Zhadan, an AI developer in Russia and product manager of the local social platform TenChat, shared a good news on the X platform on the 30th: he will marry his girlfriend Karina Imranovna in August.
The developer has a unique experience of "finding love" — using AI tools like ChatGPT to communicate with 5,239 women on Tinder before finally finding her current "AI-recognized" soulmate.
Aleksandr said that he broke up with his ex-girlfriend in 2021 and started dating again a few months later, but within a few weeks the relationship he built on Tinder reached a "dead end."
In March 2022, Aleksandr acquired GPT-3's API, which at first was a simple script to find female users with more than two photos on their profile. After ChatGPT was first launched to the public at the end of November 2022 (IT House note: GPT-3.5), he upgraded his system to "version 2".
The AI-built system uses ChatGPT in conjunction with photo recognition software to filter out users whose profiles contain explicit photos, horoscopes or zodiac signs. Eventually, the system can mimic the developer's voice when talking to a match on the Tinder platform.
Interestingly, the system sometimes promises to send flowers or chocolates to their "dates" without the developer's knowledge, and even repeats appointments. Subsequently, the developers integrated their system with Google Calendar and developed a new feature — if ChatGPT can't handle the conversation, they can do it themselves.
The developer revealed that he only "dated" with 4 women at a time, but ended up "dating" only one woman - that is, his current girlfriend Karina.
After getting to know Karina, Aleksandr dedicated the third version of the AI system: it would only be used to interact with Karina. Of course, this is just a "stopgap measure" for when you haven't responded to the woman's message for a long time. Back in November 2023, ChatGPT recommended Aleksandr to marry Karina based on her conversation, and even helped the developer design a plan to propose marriage during a trip to Hong Kong and Macau.
It's worth mentioning that the developer admitted in 2022 that he used ChatGPT to write an entire college dissertation, and his diploma was allowed to be kept.
