China.com, Beijing, December 25 (Reporter He Haijia) The closing exhibition of the National Art Fund project "Suzhou Embroidery Art Documentary Exhibition (1949-2019)" recently opened at the China Arts and Crafts Museum (China Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum), and the exhibition system shows the exploration, evolution and brilliant achievements of Suzhou embroidery in production methods, style and skills, talent training, cultural communication and other aspects since the founding of the People's Republic of China 70 years ago.

The "Suzhou Embroidery Art Documentary Exhibition (1949-2019)" brings together masterpieces of Suzhou embroidery art in various periods since the founding of the People's Republic of China 70 years ago, many of which are displayed to the public for the first time. The exhibition is divided into four sections: "Spring Embroidery Garden", "Light of Exploration", "New Wind of Change" and "Silk Rhyme", showing the 70 years of Suzhou embroidery art, exploring the path of development, as well as the fruitful achievements in inheriting classics, artistic exploration, process innovation and communication and dissemination. In addition, the exhibition also gathers a number of precious embroidery scores, embroidery manuscripts and documents, revealing the core of Suzhou embroidery and the generation trajectory of its artistic appearance from multiple angles and levels, so that the exhibition more vividly, comprehensively and deeply presents the beauty of Suzhou embroidery's craftsmanship, exploration and innovation.

Zha Yingdong, deputy mayor of Suzhou, said that Suzhou relies on a long history and rich cultural heritage to vigorously develop the economic and cultural industry, providing a good development condition and platform for a large number of traditional handicrafts and intangible cultural heritage represented by Suzhou embroidery.
Sultan, deputy director of the China Arts and Crafts Museum (China Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum), introduced that the exhibition showed the wonderful Suzhou embroidery handicraft skills through a large number of precious historical documents and embroidery works, and traced the glorious history of Suzhou embroidery and unique regional humanities, from which we can see the adjustment of production relations, the liberation of productive forces, the flow of aesthetics and the vivid and subtle balance between the mental state of the creative subject.
Cai Daying, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the China Arts and Crafts Society, said that the exhibition is based on literature, interprets the inheritance of Suzhou embroidery between the classic and the contemporary, and excavates and presents the inseparable spiritual connection between Suzhou embroidery and the country's economic, social and cultural development in the past 70 years.

It is reported that Su embroidery has a development history of more than 2,000 years, is the representative of Chinese embroidery art, condenses the spiritual emotions and aesthetic pursuit of the Chinese, leads the fashion of the times with continuous innovation ability, and becomes a model of Chinese arts and crafts. In 2006, Suzhou embroidery (Suzhou embroidery) was included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
