A few days ago, I went to a friend's house and saw that her home was full of flowers and plants, not only flowers and plants, but even fruit potted plants.
Her own potted fruit plants include lychee, pomegranate and mango trees, and she can't wait to share them with you. You can also buy a dragon fruit or pomegranate at the market and start your own growing journey!
1. Mango trees
After tasting the delicious mango, don't rush to throw away the pits. In simple steps, you can turn a mango pit into a beautiful potted plant. First, you need to clean the pits and separate the remaining pulp from the seeds. The pits are then dried for two days until they turn white.
Next, you'll need a pair of scissors to cut the pit through the middle and remove the seeds inside. You will find that the seeds have a dark skin on the surface that needs to be gently scraped off with a knife or fingernails. This step helps the seeds to absorb water and nutrients better. Then, soak the cleaned seeds in clean water and change the water at least once a day. After 4 to 7 days, you will see the seeds start to germinate.
At this point, you need to prepare some nutrient soil and a deep pot. Nutrient soil is placed in pots and the already germinated seeds are planted in the soil.
Make sure to distribute the seeds evenly over the surface of the pot. Next, water thoroughly to allow the soil to absorb the water. Then, place the pot in a sunny and warm place. After about a week, you will see the shoots of the mango grow. In a month or so, you will see the lush saplings.
2. Pomegranate trees
After eating the pomegranate fruit, a few plump seeds are left behind. Place them in a cool, ventilated place to allow them to absorb the earth's nutrients naturally.
Then, move the seeds to a seedling box with perlite. The white color of perlite not only provides a clean and tidy environment for the seeds, but also makes it easy for us to observe the growth of the seeds.
Spray the seedling box with the right amount of water regularly to keep the soil moist and provide the necessary water for seed growth. The seedling box is placed in a place with sufficient sunlight to provide optimal light conditions for the seeds.
After about three weeks, the seedlings emerge from the perlite with tender green heads. At this time, you need to prepare potting soil and a beautiful flower pot. For pomegranate trees to grow better, prune the root system properly to ensure that they can stretch healthily deep into the soil.
After moving the pomegranate saplings to a place full of sunlight, shape them beautifully. Using a soft steel or copper wire, spiral around the pomegranate tree to guide them in the direction we want them to grow. Over the next three months, we will continue to adjust the shape to allow them to grow into the shape we want them to be.
3. Lychee trees
Choose a delicate pot, preferably made of ceramic, to better protect the root system of the lychee tree. Placing the pot in a stable place is conducive to the growth of the lychee tree. It is best to choose some fertile soil that provides adequate nutrients. Spray the soil with moisture until it becomes moist but not dripping.
Put the moist soil in the pot, insert some holes evenly on the surface, and place the lychee pits (buds facing up) into them. You can choose ripe lychee pits, but don't use pits that have already sprouted, as they may have lost their vitality.
Next, a layer of gravel is placed on the surface of the lychee pit, which will prevent the evaporation of water from the soil surface and prevent small insects from approaching.
Spray the plants regularly to keep the soil moist. You can use a watering can or spray directly with tap water. Remember to keep an eye on the growth of your plants and take action if you have any problems. After 7 to 10 days of patience, you will see the shoots emerge from the soil in a vivid reddish-brown color.
After two weeks, these shoots will gradually turn into a light brown color, which is particularly cute. In this process, you need to be patient and take care of these shoots to allow them to grow healthily.
