This, she said, is in line with the growth of exports of bedding from Thailand, which is also emerging as the world's 10th largest exporter. Among them, in the past 10 years (2012-2022), the average export value of Thai bedding products is 114 million US dollars, with an average annual growth rate of 7%. Thai products have advantages in quality, especially latex pillows and mattresses, which are extremely flexible and can support the body well.
At the same time, she added, free trade agreements (FTAs) can also help support the export of such products, not only by removing import tax barriers, but also by increasing Thailand's competitive potential. At present, the ASEAN (9 countries), China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, India, Chile and Hong Kong, China, which have signed FTAs with Thailand, have all exempted Thailand from import tariffs on all bedding products, bringing Thailand's exports to US$110 million from January to October 2023.
