This volume was originally stored in the Old Summer Palace, lost outside the palace at the end of the Qing Dynasty, obtained by the Europeans, and was cut and framed as an interior furnishing, although the first section is missing, and the latter volume is well preserved.
This volume is the only color book in the public edition, which shows its unique and precious artistic value.
It depicts the situation of Fusang the Great, the main water official of the Xia Yuan Palace, traveling in a dragon car, the honor guard is gorgeous, the characters are lofty, the auspicious clouds are full of the sky, and the sea tide is surging.
The lines are simple and concise, and the lines of the clothes have a sense of wind. The physiognomy of the characters is blended, which is influenced by the chiaroscuro of Western painting. The whole volume is elegant and refined, which well reflects the spiritual temperament of the immortal officials and female fairies.
