The name Hanako refers to Liu Tianhua, a grandmaster of modern national music and the originator of the erhu. Liu Tianhua came from a poor family since childhood, he was the son of Liu Baoshan, a talent in the late Qing Dynasty, and was known as the "Three Liu Brothers" together with the poet Liu Bannong and the musician Liu Beimao. Liu Tianhua was the second oldest in the family and studied for several years, and after the death of his parents, he had to work as a temporary worker to survive. At the age of 20, after Liu Tianhua recovered from a serious illness, he occasionally saw erhu in the market, spent money on one, and began to play. Gradually, Liu Tianhua became fascinated by the erhu, pondered and pulled it himself, and at the same time composed and created his own erhu song. In the society at that time, people looked down on this profession, and the erhu was called Hanako Erhu, such as the well-known author of "Erquan Reflecting the Moon" A Bing is a typical representative. Liu Tianhua is talented, diligent, and progresses quickly. He continued to explore his skills, seek teachers and friends, and finally became an outstanding erhu and pipa player and composer. In the twenties and thirties, he taught at Peking University. Only jealous of talent, died young, at the age of 37. His representative works include "Song in Illness", "Moon Night", "Empty Mountain Bird Language", "Good Night", "Bright Walk" and other songs.
