2024 Taihu Jazz Festival
More than 200 jazz musicians from home and abroad and more than 50 jazz performances will be held from May 22nd to 26th at the National Centre for the Performing Arts, Taihu Stage Art Center, to jointly create a "Jazz China" art highland and an international jazz exchange platform, presenting the diverse features of jazz music

Early jazz was composed mainly of brass, percussion, and strings, and was characterized by improvisation and collective cooperation, and the musicians worked together to create a rich variety of musical effects, which soon spread in the southern region and gradually became popular with the general public
Over time, jazz gradually expanded from the southern region to the whole country and absorbed more different styles of musical elements, and at the beginning of the 20th century, jazz entered a stage of rapid development, with the emergence of many outstanding musicians and bands who pushed jazz to new heights through continuous innovation and experimentation
In the process of development, jazz has formed a variety of different styles and genres, such as swing music, bibop cold jazz, free jazz, etc., are all important branches of jazz, these different styles and genres have their own characteristics, injecting new vitality into the development of jazz music
The Taihu Jazz Festival has accompanied the audience and jazz lovers through a three-year journey, and the 2024 Taihu Jazz Festival has created the largest number of performances, the largest number of participants, and the largest scale of performances
This year's Jazz Festival has a very strong lineup of musicians, from France, the world's top harmonica player, Laurent Moore, the most respected composer in the Hungarian jazz scene, jazz drummer Barash Bagyi, Cuban guena flute virtuoso Rodrigo Sousa with a pleasant harmonica, passionate drums and intoxicating Latin style to bring everyone a surprising audio-visual experience, Li Xiaochuan, Feng Mantian, Jia Yinan, Luo Ning, An Yu and Xiao Jun, Top domestic musicians such as Rongchenchu, CMA All-Star Jazz Big Band, Jazz Band, Jazz Band, and Chinese Film Orchestra will also appear on the stage to express their respective musical ideas
