Typhoon Bravan may degenerate into a strong extratropical cyclone in the late morning of Typhoon Bravan tomorrow morning and may strengthen to a strong typhoon level (category 14), after which the intensity will continue to rise, and the wind strength may reach 16 or higher at its strongest. It is about to become the eighth super typhoon in the northwest Pacific this year.
However, its peak period does not seem to last long (about three days), and the later stage gradually weakens under the influence of the westerly wind belt and injects oblique pressure energy to make it more likely to degenerate into an extratropical cyclone, and the intensity of this extratropical cyclone may not be weaker than the intensity of the predecessor tropical cyclone, the latest report given by the Central Meteorological Observatory believes that Typhoon Bravan will directly become an extratropical cyclone (12, 33m/s) from the typhoon level on the 15th, which is equivalent to the lower limit of the typhoon level!
Such a strong extratropical cyclone system will not only bring strong wind and rain to the islands and seas it passes, but may also cause the westerly wind belt to fluctuate more and induce the emergence of trough ridges, thereby promoting abnormal weather phenomena in the middle and high latitudes.
