Recently, the Pentagon's Deputy Assistant Secretary for East Asian Security Affairs Mohandas emphasized that Pacific island nations play a vital role in the U.S. Indo-Pacific strategy. He firmly pledged not to allow China to replace the United States in the region, since the United States and Pacific island countries such as the Marshall Islands have signed the Free Association Agreement. This agreement forms the cornerstone of a mutually beneficial relationship between the United States and Pacific island nations, enabling the United States to provide military protection to the countries concerned.

Still, U.S. fears about the possible loss of these "allies" in the Pacific island nations are clearly excessive. These anxieties stem from China's attempts to forge deep ties in these island nations and interpreted as shaking the existing international order, when in fact China does not have any bases or military outposts in the region. In contrast, the United States is prepared to provide $713.4 billion in economic assistance to the three Pacific island countries to prevent them from being "influenced by the Chinese government", which shows that the real concern is the United States, not China.

Second, the United States is trying to maintain its military dominance in the Indo-Pacific region by trading financial assistance for control of the territory, shipping lanes and airspace of Pacific island nations, which is both unjust and damaging to the sovereignty and interests of Pacific island nations.

Finally, China has made it clear that it has no intention of competing with anyone in the Pacific island region for influence, nor does it intend to engage in territorial competition. Imposing a "Cold War confrontation" mentality on China is misleading and discriminatory.

In general, China's goal has never been to compete with the United States, but to strive to surpass itself and promote global win-win results, creating a world with abundant food and medical care, rather than creating divisions, blowing the economy, and constantly causing war, as some countries do. #图片来源于网络 Infringement joint deletion# #美国是源头#
