During the week-long 2024 International Children's Day in Turkey, Weihan School of Yuhang District, Hangzhou, as a Chinese delegation, traveled to Istanbul, Turkey to celebrate this international event with children from all over the world.
The event brought together 22 art groups from 16 countries, including Turkey, China, Hungary, Poland, Mexico, and Colombia, to compose a beautiful movement of cultural exchanges, and also called for world peace with children's words from all over the world, and sent a message that children are the future and hope of the country.
Six representatives from the Primary School of Weihan School in Yuhang District, Hangzhou, as ambassadors of Chinese culture, participated in a series of colorful activities such as the opening ceremony, art performances, world culture nights, festival parades, intangible cultural heritage exhibitions, museum tours, and strait cruise parties together with child delegations from all over the world.
During the event, Mr. Wei Xiaodong, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Turkey, and Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu, Mayor of Istanbul, cordially met with the Chinese delegation and extended cordial greetings and best wishes to the ambassadors. In the group photo with the ambassador and the mayor, the young ambassadors showed confidence and calmness, presenting the image of a Chinese teenager with the demeanor of a great country.
During the event, delegations from all over the world dressed up and paraded through Istanbul's main neighborhoods, showcasing the charm of different cultures with music and dance unique to each country. The young ambassadors of Weihan School wore Chinese red horse dresses with atmospheric and national characteristics, and performed songs and dances created and performed by Weihan School students and parents. The smart and lovely singing and dancing performance won the applause of hundreds of audiences in the audience, and was favored and loved by other delegations and local people, and there was an endless stream of group photos. The delegations exchanged gifts with the characteristics of various countries, and the atmosphere of people-to-people diplomacy was strong and simple.
During this visit to Turkey, the ambassadors, as participants in world affairs, deeply felt the charm of different cultures and China's diplomatic influence. Just as Hu Aiyu, the principal of the primary school of Weihan School, said in his speech to the young ambassadors before the trip: "I believe that you will live up to this trip and gain a lot! Since 1986, Turkish Children's Day has developed into an international children's festival.
