The main economic data for the Marshall Islands in 2021 are as follows (Source: IMF): GDP: $250 million. GDP per capita: $4,460; GDP growth rate: -1.5%.

The country is located in the Central Pacific Ocean. It consists of 29 atolls and 5 islets with a total of 1,225 large and small islands.

To the west is the Federated States of Micronesia, another archipelago State, Kiribati. It consists of more than 1,200 large and small islands and reefs, distributed over a sea area of more than 2 million square kilometers, forming a two-column chain island group running northwest-southeast. It is divided into two parts, the Sunrise Islands in the southeast and the Sunset Islands in the northwest, separated by about 208 kilometers. The vast majority of the population is concentrated in the capital and on the island of Kwajalein. The coastline is 370.4 km long. It has a tropical climate with an average annual temperature of 27°C and an average annual rainfall of 3350 mm, with a rainy season from May to November and a dry season from December to April. It is about 3,200 km southwest of Hawaii and about 2,100 km southeast of Guam, with the Latak Islands to the east and the Lalik Islands to the west. There are 34 major reefs. The land area of the country is 181.3 square kilometers (including Bikini Atoll, Enivitok Atoll and Kwajalein Atoll), and the marine exclusive economic zone covers an area of 2.131 million square kilometers.

Bikal Atoll

Bikal is one of the smallest atolls in the Marshall Islands, located north of the Ratak Chain (aka Sunrise Islands), about 85 kilometers northeast of Utrik – making it the second northernmost island in the Marshall Islands. This oval-shaped atoll is about 13 kilometres north-south and more than 8 kilometres east-west. The five islets on the atoll (Bikar, Jabwelo, Almani, Jabwelo and Jaboero) have a land area of less than 0.5 square kilometres, but the shallow lake around them is 37 square kilometres.

The coral reefs around Bikar are continuous, except for a narrow passage on the western side, where pristine flora and fauna live on Bikar Island due to its relative isolation. The vegetation covered by the atoll is composed of Pandanus tectorius, Lepturus repens, Cocos nucifera, Boerhavia repens, Pisonia grandis, Triumfetta procumbens, Tournefortia argentea, Scaevola sericea and purslane, grass sea thorn, and atoll shrub and vine composition. But the smallest island on the atoll, Jaboero, has no vegetation and consists purely of fine sand and pebbles.

Bikar was once a major location for seabirds, and although there has been a significant decline in seabird populations in recent years, it remains important. Bikar is also an important spawning site for the endangered green sea turtle.

Orr Atoll

Atoll is part of the Ratak Chain (also known as the Sunrise Islands), located in the southern part of Maloelap Atoll (central Maloelap image) and is a small atoll consisting of three main islands (Tabal, Aur and Bigen) and 39 smaller islands with a total area of 5.6 square kilometers. They are connected to each other to form a large lake (more than 80 meters deep) with an area of 240 square kilometers. There are two main entrances to the lake: the west and south entrances, plus many smaller entrances and narrow straits.

Atoll Atoll, located 120 km north of Majuro, is home to about 450 people, evenly distributed between the islands of Tabal and Aur. Most of the other islands are uninhabited. Life on Atoll is quite traditional, and their habits have been this way for a long time. Local residents are good at making models of boats and huge wall hangings. The lake on the Atoll is an excellent diving site. There are also plenty of tropical fish and corals, as well as turtles and baby sharks.

Arno Atoll

Arno Atoll is one of the main atolls of the Marshall Islands, located in the southern part of the Ratak Chain (also known as the Sunrise Islands), 15 kilometers east of Majuro. Arno Atoll has a land area of nearly 13 square kilometers and consists of 133 small islands. On the atoll there is also a large lake surrounded by reefs, 339 km deep. Arno Atoll is extremely irregular in shape.

With a population of approximately 2069 (1999), Arno Atoll is one of the more populous atolls in the Marshall Islands and has two airstrips. In Arno Atoll, there is a Longar area, known as a "sex school", where young ladies have received sex education.

The waters of Longar Point in Arno Atoll are excellent pelagic fishing spots, with plenty of marlin, yellow eel, tuna and sailfish, among others. Every month, more than about 4,500 kg of tuna and reef fish are shipped to Majuro Market.

The main islets on Arno Atoll are Ajeltokrok, Kobjeltak, Rearlaplap, Langor and Tutu. At the same time, it is also the most populous place.

Latak Islands

Airuk belongs to the Ratak Chain, also known as the Sunrise Islands, 72 kilometers north of Wotje Atoll, is a small atoll consisting of 57 islets, almost all of which are located on the eastern side of the atoll. The main islets on Airuk Atoll are 5.4 square kilometers--- the main islets on the atoll are Ajelep, Aliej, Ailuk (farthest on the left), Alkilwe (an isolated islet, at the top of the picture), Barorkan, Biken, Enejabrok, Enejelar, Kapen (farthest on the right) and Marib. The western and southern parts of Airuc Atoll are edged by a near-continuous reef , but most of it is submerged by the sea. There is also a reef-enclosed lake on the atoll covering an area of 177 square kilometres.

On the western side of Airuc Atoll (above the image) there are three entrances to the lake: the Erappu Strait, the Marok Strait and the Eneneman Strait.

Elingina Atoll

Ailinginae is an island located in the Lalik Islands (Sunset Islands). The nearest mainland is Langlap Atoll, which is separated by the ocean for about 10 miles. Eringinae is made up of a large lake that looks like an island that has been hollowed out from the air. The terrain is low-lying, only a few meters above sea level. The total width of the atoll is 27 km and the breadth is 9 km, and the entire island is surrounded by coral reefs. The atoll consists of 25 small islands with a total area of 2.8 square kilometres.

On the island there are two entrances to the great lake of Eringinae – the Mogiri Pass and the Eneibukku Pass, which are 0.9 and 0.3 miles wide, respectively. The average daytime temperature on these islands on Eringinae Atoll is around 27 °C, but the temperatures are warmer at night than during the day. This phenomenon is associated with showers. The rainy season on the atoll is from September to November.

The currency used on Eringina Atoll is the US dollar, and the main power type is 110V, 60Hz. The time in the region is GMT+12. You can come by flight from Micronesia. Western navigators arrived in the early 16th century. In 1788, British captain John S. Marshall came here to investigate, hence the name. From 1944 to 1947, the United States imposed military control on this. It was administered by the United States in 1947. The trusteeship ended on 22 December 1990. Economic development is mainly based on foreign aid, and its fiscal revenue mainly depends on loans or assistance from the United States, Japan and other countries and international organizations.

The Marshall Islands have a beautiful natural environment and are known as the black pearls of the South Pacific. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, without any industrial pollution, the air is fresh and refreshing. With turquoise waters, crystal clean beaches, and coconut groves full of Fushu, stepping on this land will make you feel refreshed. The Republic of the Marshall Islands has an excellent aviation base, with two international airports and 28 airlines operated by AMI and Continental Airlines. At present, there are international routes connecting Hawaii to the west, Fiji, Australia, New Zealand to the south, and Saipan, Guam and Tokyo in the South Pacific to the east. There is also a dedicated transport system to transport seafood to Hawaii and Tokyo.
