Wang Zhi, a native of Hengdong County, Hengyang City, was born in May 1965 in Jiepai Town, Hengyang County, Hengyang City. He once served as a reporter of Hunan Chenzhou Television, Hunan Television, Shenzhen Radio and Television Station, a reporter and host of CCTV's "Children of the Orient", a reporter, host, and "Face to Face" reporter, host and producer of "News Investigation"; and the vice mayor of Lijiang City, Yunnan Province.
In July 2012, he was transferred to the Communication University of China as a researcher and assistant to the president. On May 22, 2014, he joined Shaanxi Satellite TV and will soon host a large-scale humanistic history through the full media event "Silk Road Journey".
During his work at "Children of the Orient", Wang Zhi won the first prize of China Television News three times in 1994, 1995 and 2002, and won the News Gold Award in the "Jin Shiming" Cup National Television Host Competition in 1996. In 1999, Wang Zhi's television program "Life" won the Asian Broadcasting Union Special Award.
CCTV's "Face to Face" program began broadcasting on January 11, 2003, and within a few weeks, its ratings were among the best in the news column of "Oriental Time and Space", to which it belongs. Wang Zhi, the producer and host of the "Face to Face" column, also let the national TV audience get to know them faster after only 4 months of broadcasting.
Married in 2003, his wife is a peer - CCTV host Zhu Xun. There is a son named Wang Fa.
During his work at "Children of the Orient", Wang Zhi won the first prize of China Television News three times in 1994, 1995 and 2002, and won the News Gold Award in the National Television Presenter Competition in 1996. In 2003, it was widely accepted for its series of reports made during SARS. In 2004, Wang Zhi won the "Chinese Youth May Fourth Award".
On the morning of October 22, 2008, Wang Zhi arrived in Lijiang City, Yunnan Province, and took up the post of vice mayor of the city, responsible for investment promotion, auditing, policy research and legal system work; assisting in cultural, radio and television work; in charge of the Municipal Investment Promotion Office, the Municipal Audit Bureau, the Municipal Government Research Office, the Municipal Government Legislative Affairs Office, and concurrently served as the deputy director of the Information Office of the Yunnan Provincial Government and the deputy director of the Foreign Propaganda Office of the Propaganda Department of the Provincial Party Committee.
In May 2014, he served as the host of Shaanxi Satellite TV.
