Now, they have finally said goodbye to the days of rehearsals at the massage parlor, the latest "stronghold" of the band "Folding Ear Roots".
Years later, due to the busyness of their respective families, the lead singer of the band, Chen Kexing, had to leave the band due to physical reasons, and everyone had not been together for a long time.

At present, the "Folding Ear Root" band only has four players: Chen Changhai, the leader, Yang Lin, the blower, Yang Zhi, the keyboardist, and Peng Wanhai, the bassist. In order to temporarily solve the problem of the lead singer, everyone tried to sing over and over again, and decided to select a person with a more suitable voice line from the existing four people to serve as the temporary lead singer.
Because we are preparing for the National Disabled People's Art Show that starts in May, everyone must step up rehearsals.

The root of the ear is a plant that prefers warmth, humidity, hardiness, and is afraid of bright light, and can grow tenaciously in dark humus soils. In the eyes of ordinary people, the 5 post-90s seem to be steadily moving forward on the road to realizing their ideals, but they do not know that music is only their spiritual sustenance and belief, and people always have to return to reality.
On the road to chasing dreams, it is destined to be ten hardships and nine difficulties. Captain Chen Changhai said that if a blind person wants to play a song, he must first remember the musical score, which is much more difficult than ordinary people. They rely on mobile phone reading software for the blind, memorize a little bit, and then keep practicing until they become proficient.
In Chen Changhai's view, music is a part of their lives, just like eating, indispensable, but it is not a means of making a living.
Usually, everyone's main business is masseuse
When there was no training, Chen Changhai worked in a massage shop. He smiled and said: "I have been to many places to do tuina, in the north, customers like slow, soft, strong, in Shanghai, customers like fast and accurate ..."
Chen Changhai completely returned to the blind massage position in 2015, and joined the Guizhou Shenghua Blind Massage Alliance in 2017, opened his own shop, and now he has opened three massage shops in Guiyang, and the busiest person in the orchestra is none other than him.
Today, the main business of the 4 blind people in the band "Folding Ear Root" is still to do tuina. In an interview, they all said the same sentence: "The ideal should walk side by side with life, there is no way to maintain livelihood, where to talk about the ideal." ”
Their childhoods were less joyful, but they became stronger and braver

This song created by the "Folding Ear Root" band in 2020 and incorporating the reggae style of "Marbles", the rhythm is light and interesting, as if taking everyone back to childhood through time and space, but their childhood is lamentable.

Chen Changhai was born in 1991 in Jinlong Village, Jinhua Town, Guiyang, due to congenital cataracts causing optic nerve atrophy, and his eyes only felt a little light. When he was 5 years old, his father died, his mother remarried, and he was subsequently adopted by his aunt. Later, for a long time, Chen Changhai was very depressed, because his brothers and sisters at home went to school every day, and only he could not go. Once, when he was alone at home, he took a large handful of medicine out of a drawer and swallowed it, attempting to commit suicide.
At the age of 12, with the help of the local disabled persons' federation, he attended the Guiyang School for the Blind, deaf and Dumb. In the corridor, he overheard a senior playing and singing with a guitar, and he was very envious, saying to himself in his heart: "I want to learn too." ”

Yang Lin, born in 1992, was blinded by a high fever when he was a child. Fortunately, when he was 10 years old, the local disabled persons' federation sent him to the Guiyang Blind, Deaf and Dumb School. Soon, he began to learn to play the flute with The teacher Tan Yi in the school. For years afterward, he dreamed of growing up to be a flute player.
Yang Zhi, who was in Dali, Yunnan Province in 1990, unlike several other partners in the band, suffered a medical malpractice in an infusion at the age of 8 and went completely blind. Later, at the Dali Special Education School, he heard the singer Xu Wei's "Time", so he fell in love with music, and he began to become sunny. Later, he bought his first guitar for 120 yuan and dreamed of becoming a wandering singer in the near future.

Peng Wanhai, the only visually sighted member of the band, works as a bassist, and his profession is a takeaway brother. Born in 1993, he has a clear eyebrow, although he is everyone's younger brother, he is also the person who "bears" the most.

In 2011, Chen Changhai and Yang Zhi met at the Blind College of Guizhou Shenghua Vocational School in Huishui County, and together with several partners formed the "Bright Band", the predecessor of the "Folding Ear Root" band.
They first ran to a piano shop in Huishui County to find a teacher to learn, and then they looked for tutorials on the Internet to listen to lessons. In the last year of college, the two traveled to Guiyang, Kunming, Guangzhou and other places to sell songs. Since then, they have been determined to make the "blind band" up.

On January 15, 2018, the band "Folding Ear Roots" was born, with a total of 4 members, and Peng Wanhai, a takeaway brother who also loves music, is one of them. When he was studying at Guizhou Shenghua Vocational School, he met Chen Changhai and Yang Zhi, plus Yang Lin, which was the prototype of the "Folded Ear Root" band.
Peng Wanhai said: "I met everyone the last time, I was one year younger than them when I was in Shenghua, I felt envious when I saw my brothers performing on stage, I also had some instruments, I decided to pluck up the courage to join, my brothers were very good to me, and the days when everyone played music together every day were the happiest." ”
On May 18, 2018, the band "Folding Ear Roots" held the band's first performance in the true sense of the word at the Cultural Center on Shuidong Road.
Captain Chen Changhai recalled: "We sang 12 songs, including "Mom and Dad" and "Love in Shenghua" written by Wan Hai. At that time, we expected 100 live spectators, but more than 300 people came, many of them listened to the crying, we were deeply encouraged on stage, and from that day on, we were even more determined to take this road. ”
Teacher Tan Yi is the enlightenment teacher of several members of the "Folded Ear Root" band, after forming the band, he helped arrange the music, led them to Beijing to record programs, and helped them solve many difficulties in life and profession.
