In a sunny atmosphere, with the sea or the coast as a backdrop, The British painter Henry Scott Tuke is known for his unique depictions of nude male youths who either swim, wander around on a boat or sunbathe on Cornwall Beach. Influenced by European avant-garde colours and techniques, Tuke worked hard to capture the colour effects of sunlight on the skin, becoming a leader in the revival of male nudity in British art.
